Mass. Resident: 'Surprised' by Amount of Snow

    Published on Mar 8, 2013
A slow-moving storm centered far out in the Atlantic Ocean dropped more than a foot of snow on parts of New England, caused coastal flooding that washed away a home in Massachusetts, and turned Friday commutes into slushy crawls. (March 8)

why would anyone in NE ever be "surprised" by bad weather? a person would be surprised if it snowed in Bali but in MA it's to be expected.

The weatherpeople botched the forecast this time. The forecast for this storm was 1 to 2 inches for my area. It dumped 6 here.

having lived in PA for almost 25 years I can attest to the years of inaccuracy of the weathermen in that area of the country. it's near impossible to forecast it. I lived in MA and RI for a couple of years and the weather in NE is so very unpredictable.
