    The Air Force

Ok, Im 19 and I was living on my own for almost 2 years. I was working, going to school, trying to pay bills all at the same time, and I wasn't getting anywhere. So I decide to move back home, free meals and a roof is a good deal ya cant pass up. I get down here and look no jobs, Ive applied to plenty of decent places but no responses even when they make you wait two weeks for answers. So Ive been home not having anything to do besides sit around and workout for almost a month. I am going insane, Im an active person doing this is driving me nuts as I need something to do all day since its what Im used to. Now I doubt I will be getting a job they are like water in the desert around here. So I look at my options, #1) I wait for the new shopping plaza to open and geta job there, #2) I sit here and slowly go insane with nothing to keep me busy all day, #3) I join the Air Force. I come to think about this after seeing an AF b tour bus and asking WTF!! do they have those for, my answer might not be the right one but advertising is one reason.

Ok now Im considering this, I havent talked to an advisor yet but things on the website look pretty good, training pay, free alot of stuff. I know things arent as easy as they say though. Is the service as great as it seems? Will I really learn skills that can help me later on? Anyone thats in or has been in it, was it worth joining? I dont know if they have a reserves, but it doesnt matter if I do somthing its all the way. Ok advice would be grealty appreciated on this. You guys are great at it so I leave it to you.

Yes it's absolutely worth it. In regards to training that you can utilize in civilian life the answer is yes. I was in the Navy and the specialized training I received in Electronics, Satellite communications, and even martial arts training opened more doors then I could possibly walk through. I left the Service and taught martial arts to the FBI, NJ State Police and multiple other law enforcement agencies as well as military special forces out of Fort Dix and McGwire Air Force Base. Several Federal agencies even sought me out for employment but I declined. I also worked as a professional bodyguard until I was married. I then took the computer skills I learned and currently work in the IT field ever since bringing in an excellent salary. There are many other bennys including education that you can ask a recruiter about and he can advise you in detail. You can PM me if you want more details.(and no I'm not a recruiter for any of the armed services). hahahaha
