yeah i agree with Mudge I'm sure you have to be a California resident living in California at the time of the election, unless he can send in his ballot.....kinda reminds of my government class in 12th grade

Nectron, no, it depends on where you have established your official residence. It gets complex working as an expatriot becuase of tax law where you want to be a "foreign resident" for income tax benefits but you still may be able to get an absentee ballot. What state is your driver's license issued under or are you using only an international driver's license? Years ago I use to consult there too (Daharan and Al Jubail areas) so I know some of the issues you are facing.

I live in Dammam, it's between Dhahran and Jubail, my parents are arabs, I was born in CA, then we came back to Saudi Arabia..
I've visited the US in vacations & for business "my father's"
last time I lived in Houston for 2 years, no driver's license, just an ID and an American passport "Proud to be an American citizen" although I have a different opinion about the government...
