by upbeat do you mean rock or pop?
Rock: Rez, Whitecross, older Stryper stuff, Angelica. There are some heavier/harder ones also. Depends on what you like.
after following the many many pages of the religion threads, I gave me the reason to start this thread. I'm not out to start another religion thread ... just want to know if anyone knows of some upbeat gospel bands. My music choices are wide and varied ... and it's time to add to my collection ... anyone got any upbeat gospel favourites?

For a more southern gospel feel, the McKamey's and Pioneers are pretty good.

Go here.........http://www.harperagency.com/artists/...onrevivers.htm and download the clip "I can't even walk, without you holding my hand" and see how you like it.

ok don't laugh.... Elvis Presley had several very good gospel albums. 2 that come to mind is "his hand in mine" on that album he has some good upbeat songs "swing low sweet charriot" (not that slow version that you probably are thinking of),,, "Milky White Way" (my all time favorite, and some other really good slower songs such as "My Fathers house", How Great thou Art"
the Second album is titled "How great thou Art" but I forget all the songs on that one. I have both because I'm a huge Elvis fan and have just about every album he ever released.
FS, yep, Elvis' gospel is very good.
As for types of gospel NT, it really depends on what you like and what you are open to. When it comes to gospel, there are times and places for each type. I grew up on Rez Band so I like them alot. But the older I get, the less I listen to the harder stuff. There comes a time when you need sit back and get some true substance, and not just a hard rock replacement...kinda like methadone. lol Jars of Clay have some good stuff. Just depends what you like. If you like Joe Cocker, then try some Phil Driscoll. Guy can blow an a trumpet too man. When I just need to be calmed down, I like some old Benny Hester, Steve Camp or Kathy Troccoli.
Damn there are more Gospel fans here then I'd have ever assumed. BO you surprise me. From knowing you for as long as I do and your personality I'd never have guessed. hahahaha
BO: Eats breakfast, pounds weights, goes to work, comes home kicks some little flea bags ass that cut him off on the road, gets online and tells some of the A@#holes to get a f#$#ing clue only the way BO knows how to. Then BO settles down to some Gospel Music before hitting the bed. hahahahaha Hummm something just doesn't seem to fit there. hahahaha

No body is perfect FS! All we can do is try!!

LOL. Nah FS, I gotta good heart man. There are however times the drivers here make me want to hurt them...but I refrain. I do get a little feisty online, but that always happens when there is conviction. I'm a firm believer though of puting things in your head that make you better...not bitter. And music can do either. Always trying to be better though.![]()
awww damn man. You've always been good with me B you know that. Even when I was hated over at that "other place" you stood by me regardless of the possible fallout for taking my side. I'll never forget that B.
LMAO!!! I'll take fallout over sellout anyday.

enough of the mushy crap fellows!
