I used to be really into it when it was WWF, back in the day from like 96-00. There got to be a point though where the plot lines just were way to cheesy to buy into, and it just became way to mainstream to like, I can't even stand it anymore. Back when stone cold and the rock were battling for the first time and McMahon had the corporation, back when the undertaker was actually an undertaker and DX was around, that was the height of WWF IMO. It is just a joke now. i must say though, long live Trish Stratus!!!!!!

WWE has its place in entertainment ........but wrestling has'nt been wrestling since the 70's when Rick Flair WAS the man, Dusty Rhodes had the "bionic elbow", and Hulk Hogan was just starting to jack gear on Venice Beach. (IMO)

Yeah agree with gr81. But I was a fan since I was like a small kid. Its totally boring now. Same recycled storylines, boring long matches on T.V and the same damn wrestlers at the top. I mean I saw Raw again for the first time 2 weeks ago in like a year, and stupid HHH is still the top guy. And then that dumb kids of McMahon is still actinglike a big shot with Kane(finally they got rid of the mask). I also saw Smackdown and I don't even know half of the guys anymore. Yeah there's this Brock Lesnar guy now. Where did he come from? I remember last year when I watched it he was wrestling those Hardy Boyz. Now he's a former champion and bodyguard of McMahon. Though I do like Goldberg and was surpised to see him on Raw. I thought he would never come. If Goldberg becomes champion let me know and I might start watching it again. But as long as that ass HHH is champion I ain't watching.

The problem is they have all of these old fogeys back in, rick flair, Hogan, roddy piper even came back for wrestlemania. how can you take all that crap seriously, the plot lines used to keep me on the edge every week, now they are so predictable. I have to disagree though, HHH was dope a few years back, him and Rock had some great matches.

    Amen bro!
Put the "dusty" on em we use to scream at the TV when we was kids...

Let's not forget the Funk bros, and the Samoa Twins and that older dude with the bleached white hair - think it was Billy Colt? And the oriental guy that could kill with a single chop to the throat, and tha fat guy that would flop down on fallen oppoents from the ring rail (super fly?) and the dude with the wicked volcano toe twist that would make his opponents beg to be let out of the ring. There was so much more entertainment in those days. Wow - brings back memories... good stuff.

Oceandude you don't consider Ricky Steamboat one? Just a short while ago I WAS the biggest fan. I still love professional wrestling, but not sure if I really consider my self a WWE fan. Agreed, they have really gotten bad. Horribly bad. I never was a really big fan of most of the storylines, most were stupid. But I love good/great matches and they are hard to come by anymore. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle are my all times favorites, few who can actually wrestle.

    blood stream.

I seem to recall the old storylines went something like...

I'M GOING TO CRUSH YOU LIKE A FLAP JACK

now maybe the storylines have gone down hill, but the ability of the wrestlers to actually perform those lines has greatly improved, maybe they are a little over eloquent... I watch fairly often, though I just don't think I can handle 2 hours of it twice a week... and of course the shows I could handle a lot more of are only 30 minutes.... grrrrr, tv is cruel.

Well Dusty Roads was a kick in the pants. Fat chubby soft guy from texas with weird fuzzy caps who always looked like he had two black eyes and mumbled like he had an IQ of around 80. "The American Dream" haha. Some of those story line writers must have busted their sides coming up with that character. It was pure entertainment and if anyone took any of those guys as serious wrestlers they should check into a mental clinic for counseling.

remember how cool the rock was back in the day when he was a heel, spouting all those one liners all the time.
"you want to go 1 on 1 with the great one and make your monkey ass famous"
"the rock is gonna take his size 13 boot,.. shine it up reall nice, turn that sum bitch side ways, ...AND STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY ASS!"

Those were the days right there. The best part of Raw used to be listening to him talk before his match, that was soo funny.

I kind of remember Steamboat. But I wasn't heavy into it when I was a kid. It was one of those thing you watched on saturday TV when it was raining or nothing else to do.

Gordon Sulee (or however you spell his name) was the one that started it all down my way. NOt sure if it was nationaly syndicated or regional. If it were not for him it never would have amounted to anything. I am sure he retired as a very welthy man when he sold out to the bigger syndication.

NWA Championship Wrestling with Gordon Solie. Done at the Eddie Graham sports Arena in Tampa. I used to watch them when they came over to Melbourne civic center. After the matches they would go to this little biker bar down the road......we'd sit and get trashed with Dick Murdock and the rest of the redneck bunch.

WWE is just a joke, everything is planned perviously, the winners, the storylines, it's just acting now, you can notice that easily!

It was cool at the bigennings of the 90's, then it became crap.

Nectron in the 90's it was also pre-determined and choreographed as well - as it always has been.

Remember hacksaw Jim Duggin? That guy was cool. Screw the flimsy metal chair, hit 'em with a 2x4!

I watch it now and then, it is stupid, especially with who owns what and who's GM of this show or that show. And McMahon should just stay off camera.

Brock Lesner is def. one mean SOB though.
