I'd be inclined to go with the stars theory. It makes sense to me.
More Sand
More stars

Heard this on the radio awhile back and heard it again today. Thought it would be neat to get some opinions on this. A scientist said there were more stars in the solar system than grains of sand on the earth. I think that since sand in finite and the solar system is infinite, I say stars. What do you think?

Never thought of it to be honest![]()
definitely starts, there are actually 1 million starts for every grain of sand on all of earths beaches and deserts, in our solar system !
You counted???Originally posted by BigBallaGA there are actually 1 million starts for every grain of sand on all of earths beaches and deserts, in our solar system !![]()
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???
right. shot in the dark and you nailed it !!! you really are a savant or an idiot savant, hahahaha
There are billions of stars in a single portion of a galazy. the amount of sand on earth IS endless. It may be an unbelievable number but it still has an end. the universe is endless as well as the stars that fill it.Originally posted by dg806

I just saw this. I don't know if this is accurate but I'd probably assume it is correct. even if it were a little off, were still only talking about a single solar system.Originally posted by BigBallaGA

The universe is not endless, nothing is (unless we want to talk religion again). The universe will perhaps collapse on itself at some point, but within the last few years scientists theorize that it may become spread out enough to avoid this collapse.Originally posted by firestorm

It is nothing but a guess of course, we have not even mapped out the damn Milky Way entirely much less any other galaxy. There is by the way a Milky Way mapping project underway for at least the last 10 years.Originally posted by firestorm

Universe is "infinite" in terms of human understanding, but not the solar system, there are many solar systems inside of many galaxies and so on.Originally posted by dg806

Mudge I'll never understand what your saying. I'm not saying your wrong expecially since you sound like you know what your talking about and have some scientific backing as to what your saying but how can there be and end to space. I mean what's it do hit a brick wall? What is outside the end of what your saying? you know what I'm trying to say? Ouch this is making my brain hurt really bad and the voices are rambling.
