    I'm one pale bastard

I was wondering if a pale SOB like myself could benefit at all from going to a tanning place. There is one right next to my gym, and I was thinking of going. I am Irish for the most part and really white. Is it possible for me to tan and not look like a fucking corpse???

I am totally pale if I didn't tan, so I think if you start off slow and just keep adding time as you get darker and darker, then after a good amount of time, don't try a lot at first or you will fry, you will see the difference, the only thing will be because you are naturally pale, you have to keep tanning of the tan will be lost.

You can always go lay out at the beach. I like the sun tan better than the tanning bed. Went to to the beach yesterday, not only got a tan, but it was very relaxing.

but, it's harder to judge how long I should stay out...I like something like a bed so I know how long to stay in there because it's always consistent...after I build a base, I'll be able to go to the beach..

Ok my advice on the face, tan every couple of weeks to keep your face near the color of your skin. So cover your face with the towel the place provides or bring your own. This will keep your face young looking and healthy and don't forget always moisturize this will keep all of your skin healthy.

And if you do the tanning bed, use lotion on your skin afterwards. Or you'll dry out or burn easier. I use something with Aloe in it when I'm tanning.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I tan all the time and I'm naturally pale. I refuse to use the regular tanning beds because all they do is fry my skin. I find much better and safer results with a Power Booth or Power Bed or even better something called Ultra Bronze - with 0% UVB rays. You don't burn and you get nice and dark, then you only need to do it once a week once you are tanned. Be sure to use lotion to keep your skin moist and make sure to exfoliate alot and moisturize again. If I don't tan I lose it but using the Ultra Bronze I only have to do it once a week and at 0% UVB I'm not afraid.

I natural sun will only burn you if your exposed too long.

I can attest to this freeman, If you are pretty naturally pale then you may be predetermined to develope skin cancer and tanning beds will get you there, read up on some predisposing factors of skin cancer and see if you fit them.

..and be careful with that thought of if you use a taning booth, you can stay out inthe sun for longer. That isn't so.
I thought that once..I mowed the yard one afternon with a decent 'fake-n-bake' tan..and got fried!
So don't use that as a judge.
