THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!! A white man sexually abuses a 12 year old Native Girl and he gets off scott free because the court said the parents are to blame because they intially abused the 12 year old!
Edmondson gets two-year conditional sentence MELFORT - A man convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year old girl will not have to go to jail.
Dean Edmondson was given a two-year conditional sentence by a judge in Melfort on Thursday.
Judge Fred Kovatch said he couldn't ignore allegations the girl had been raised in an abusive home. That evidence, he said, supports the defence theory that the girl was the sexual aggressor.
Based on the circumstances, Kovatch ruled that jail time would not be appropriate. The sentence has been met with anger and frustration by the young victim's family.
One family member, who can't be named, says it reinforces what they already knew. "This trial has never ever served our aboriginal people. It just goes to show it's a racist system in terms of when it comes to our people. There was a wrong done on our child. The young white man got off scott free."

Sad story but why does it have to be a "White" man abusing a "Native" Girl...story focuses to much on race...a man sexually abused a twelve year old girl definatley disgusting.

Should not matter who the aggressor was. She is a minor...period. He knows better and should be charged.
