Question getting photos made that i can post - help?

i don't have a digital camera or a scanner but i know this can still be done.

here's my question. i can get the pictures from regular camera on a disc or posted to a website when i drop off the film.

which is the better/easier way to do it? has anyone gotten these discs before? are they easy to use when you get 'em back to your computer? (i mean REALLY easy b/c i haven't a clue....)

i like the idea of having the disc but maybe it would be easier for me to opt for them being posted on a website?

also - does anyone know if you can crop the pictures or not when you get them on disc?

    thanks for any suggestions

Go with the disk!!! (what I say!!!)
All you need is a photo editing program and you can do anything you want...
As for posting on a site, you either need a scanner or a dig cam...

    Go with da disk!!!

Plus they are easy to work, plop into your puter and da puter tells ya what to do...
You do have a cd-rom player on your puter???

    GO WITH DA DISK

    Ok,let me rephrase that!!!

If you get the pics done on a disk, you can do anything to the pics...Then you save it to your hard drive ,then you can attach it as a file...see at the bottom of a post where it says
    Attach file:
    Maximum size: 95000 bytes
Valid file extensions: gif jpg png txt zip bmp jpeg doc xls pdf
You press the "browse" button, and it brings you to your hard drive, you go to the file you saved the pics ...Blah,blah,blah!!!

    GO WITH THE DISK!!!
Around here in Iglooland they are the about the same price as getting hard copy pics...

You can do it from the photo disk, all it will be is a bunch of files. No different than files that you would "download" off a camera with your digical camera software if you had it, other than its on a disc "permanently" for you.

Then if the file size is small enough they can be attached here to a post, or you can trim/crop it with www.irfanview.com software which is free.

Got a question about those disk...
I get my films processed at Costco onto a CD,same price as getting a negative and hard prints.
They use a rewritable CD-RW/700MB,they put 24 pics and the Cannon program,so you can view them and they even had an EDITING programme on dat disk...
    NG

But my question is "WHY CAN'T I ADD MORE PICS TO DAT DISK?"
    It should work...

But NG,that's another reason for getting your pics processed on a disk.

They closed the disk, if its truly a CD-RW then it sounds like you'd have to copy the pix to your hard drive, and reformat the disk itself to use it.

If they do not close the disk and only close the session/leave it open, then it will not be readable by normal CD ROMs.

I think they use a CD-R disk... and I think you're right about closing the session.

I'm looking at the disk as I type... It is indeed a CD-RW.
So,I'm still trying, there HAS to be a way.
Let you know how it comes out.

Dero yes there is a way, save the pictures to your drive, re-format the disk, and write to it again with all the pix you want on there.
