I proved my point about Cardio!!

This past weekend I proved to my gf (the Cardio Queen) that cardio is not so great. I haven't done cardio in about a year or so, strictly weights at high and low intensities. (gopro's workouts). We backpacked Mount Lafayette in new hampshire this weekend. She bet that I wasn't going to make it. I did it with no problem! She was the one hurting after the third day. I think doing all those squats and SLDL's helped me out. She might finally listen, and reduce some cardio and add more weight training to her plan. She is SUCH a stubborn person, but I think it's funny.
    Here is some pics....

Thanks. There's more but I don't have a host to keep 'em on. The first one shows the snow storm we ran into the night before. We were close to the top in the alpine zone that night. There was 55 mph winds and the wind chill factor was -11!! We planned on tenting that night but plans changed due to the weather. We took another route and stayed at a hut.

    Sweet.

Mt. Lafayette is beautiful. I've hiked it many times myself. Have you ever been up Mt. Washington?

your girlfriends sounds alot like mine. I try to encourage her to do more weights and do cardio mostly as a warmup. Her "personal trainor" a few years ago told her that she needs to do LOTS of cardio and then hit the weights. Seems to me by then she'd be too tired for weights.

Not yet. I plan on doing it in the spring. I'm new at this. We went with my friend, who has hiked many times. We followed his lead. Mt. Washington is a little higher, right? I liked it alot! I definately will do it again, just in a little warmer conditions. We were not prepared for those temps!

    Yeah its a bit higher.

3 years ago in the middle of July I hiked Mt. Washington (this was my 3rd time) and it was 85 at the base. Got to the summit and it was snowing 23 degrees. Prepare yourself and I'm not kidding either.

Mt. Washington has recorded the worst weather in the world. The fastest winds every recorded. Its a hike but its breathtaking.

Thanks for the advice. That's nuts how the temp changes like that We tented the next night. It got down to around 20 degrees. I had my 0 degree sleeping bag and just my head sticking out with a wool hat pulled over my eyes.

The only thing I don't like about hiking up Mt. Washington is seeing all the tourists at the top that drove up and are sitting around having a cigarette at the top!!

you can also reduce the size of your images, you can keep a .jpg of high quality and still reduce it to 150k.
