    protein / breaking out !

lately i've been breaking out from taking protein, on my face. like red spots not really zits or pimples but kinda. this has totally baffled me because when i used to take gnc/ON protien it never happened to me. soon as i started taking customizer protein, im having these weird reactions....

any comments/suggestions !!! besides the obvious of switching to a different protein

maybe you should try ingesting the protein instead of rubbing it on your face?

Must be some kind of alergic reaction to something in the protein, are you lactose intollerant or something?

I haven't had that issue with any protein that I've taken so far.

it isn't the protien that is causing this dude, protien doesn't cause increased oil secretion or anything else that would be responsible for this. How old are you BB? I can almost guarantee that protien isn't the source. I love how people blame supps like protien for shit like this.

gr81 it very well could be the protein powder that he's taking. There could be an allergic reaction to somthing in it. Point is, you dont know...

yes I know, first of all protien doesn't break out, but lets say he is allergic (which he said he isn't), he has been using protien before this incident. It is stretch to blame your protien powder for some acne, he is young and people that age get acne. Not only that but weight training causes a rise in testosterone which in turn causes increased oil secretion. that is alot more likely of a reason for the acne. besides that he need to go see a Dr before he makes assumptions like this. Please LHGB, can you give nme some scientific reasoning that would back up protien causing acne? I am all ears

When I was a youngster, I would eat eggs nearly by the dozen. I would have eggs for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. Then all of a sudden, one day I started breaking out. IUt wouldn't go away so I went to the doctors. He told me not to eat eggs anymore so I did and the rash went away. I currently eat eggs today with no problem. See, the point is, I have no point, sometimes shit can't be explained. You have already stopped taking it for a bit, now try it again and see if it comes back.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Lots of eggs can cause a biotin deficiency, but there is plenty of debate there, since biotin is found in the yolks.

well I have recently had a very similar problem but not on the face, I was thinking of going to the doc but they have cleared up again.

basically I have been getting these strange but large red lumps on my back, sort of like boils but not quite as painful, this cannot be acne because I am 38 yrs old (correct me if I am wrong).

I was convinced that I must have been taking too many protein shakes and that it must have been caused by one additive, Aspartame, but having changed brand of whey they are occasionally re-appearing.

The thing is, I have never had allergies before, so I am confounded by this damn situation....if anyone has had something similar, please let me know as I hate going to the doctor.

regards to all the fellow spotty doughnuts on the boards
