"I look very symmetrical when i stand relaxed, without the wide, squared shoulders and the arms that appear propped away from the ribs by a surplus of muscle that characterize most bodybuliders. I've never minded that my body doesn't look massive when i'm not pumped up and i'm standing relaxed. I never tried to tense it up or get musclebound. However, when i pumped up and then posed, my whole physique would change radically. My body would open up like an accordion and my muscles would appear. Even in terms of measurements the difference was phenomenal. Hanging, my arm would measure 19 inches. When i flexed, it would balloon to 22 inches. The same thing was true of my chest. I could make my chest expand so dramatically it shocked people. They didnt know where it came from. It was a direct result of working with more repititions and less weight. Becsue if you always train with heavy weights you get to look like Franco Columbo, your muscles are always there. I don't want to knock that look. For myself, i prefer the more dramatic body, the pumped up showman's body."
Obviously it's a book and much of it is for entertainment and "shock value", but what do you guys think of this....
I ask specifically b/c i want to know what you guys think of the pump.....
Personally, let's take one of my good buddies. He is huge regardless of if he is in the process of working out (all pumped), or not. In fact, he's noticably bigger than me not working out.
BUT, once we workout, my muscles get just as big, if not bigger once i get my muscles pumped up....."the showman's body" that Arnold talks about.
For example, my buddies arms are a tad under 19" cold, and almost 20 pumped. My arms are 17.5" cold. Then about 19.5" pumped. My legs are a tad bigger than his when both are cold, but pumped they look huge compared to his pumped.
Anyone have any thoughts on this......
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

That is pretty normal, but 2 inches of pump is way outside of anything I've heard of as normal, I have no idea how that is achieved in your body. For me I get about 3/4" of pump with triceps work and about 1/2" with biceps, thats it.
thanks boys...
its just seems weird to me why my muscles won't "stay" big you know, like my boys' do.....
i guess that's why i love being in the gym so much...love that massive pump!
"to me pumping up is better than having sex with a woman and cumming. When i pump up backstage or in the gym, its like im cumming all the time. It's fantastic"-Arnold hahaha

I agree that Arnold looked huge when he flexed, while relaxed he did not, mabye because of his height, and the length of his arms.
As far as his comments about using lighter weight more reps, that worked well for HIS body type, while heavier weights worked better for Franco's body type. Arnold was not the most knowledgable guy when it came to any REAL "bodybuilding science".

true that prince. I hate it when guys go on and on about what arnold did. It was 30 years agp, BB science is not what it used to be when he was training.

It's a good thing I don't get this when I train othere wise i'd train 24/7 and constantly be overtraining.
Homer: Hey! I saved your life! That egg sandwich could have killed you by cholesterol. Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
blood stream.

I wasn't refferring to you man, I was just speaking generally. Arnold is still an accomplished person that you can defiantely learn from. My bad if it seems like I was talkin about you Flex, I totally wasn't bro. There are people that take his ward as the gospel, those are the people I was referring to .

Plus Arnold's my fav, i guess i am a little partial towards him, but who isnt towards somebody. guess it just sparked my interest thats all, and was wondering if it applied to anyone else. No worries gr, its all good.

Hey arnold was the more partial influences as far as pros go when I began. I read his encyclopedia of BB and that shit. I love arnold the BB, of course. How can you not. I just see lots of people that only talk about his influence only and that can be a more closeminded view. People that train as long as him b/c it worked for him, ya feel me. hey good times
