    Unbelieveable Infomercial

Turned on the TV this morning and it happened to be on a channel showing an infomercial about a new weight loss product that guaranteed weight loss, inches, yadda yadda yadda...

Here's the clincher...I watched it for 20 minutes and the whole time...THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT IT DID OR WHAT THE PRODUCT WAS. They didn't even show the item in question being used for exercise - I think it was Bodyflex. A stick with a rubber band attached to it from what the person was holding.

All it was was testimonials, "celebrity" endorsements and lots of talk about how it works...but there was no demo at all. Blew my mind to think that people would buy something without ever seeing an example of what it is or how to use it.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Sounds like advertising, build curiosity in the product, suspense, and then whammo when they see it they "gotta have it."

I actually saw a reasonable infomercial the other day, the guy was saying how you could eat more and lose weight and that you need to eat for you body type and went on about by not eating your being starved and your body wants to hold on to fat. But he charged some outrageous price for something you could easily do for free.
Homer: Hey! I saved your life! That egg sandwich could have killed you by cholesterol.
Lenny: Pfft, forget it, Homer. While it has been established that eggs contain cholesterol, it has not yet been proven conclusively that they actually raise the level of serum cholesterol in the human
    blood stream.
