People who fish in the deep seas have a pretty rough job, people get caught in the nets and such, if you go overboard in those "freezing" waters you are most likely done for.

Underwater Welder...I saw a show on this once...they pay them huge amounts of money because you can literally drown at any time and are working with volatile chemicals constantly near flame.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I saw a show on TLC, it said the job with the highest percentage for death was ice fisherman. If you believe everything you hear.

Kind of goes along with what I said about deep sea, in the icy areas any holes fill up again right quick for those that actually dive.

Ice fisherman was pretty close, its actually Alaskian King Crab fisherman that was once categorized as the worlds most dangerous profession. It may have changed but that was the number 1 spot at one time.

I would say the world most dangerous job would be a military Infantry man during a military conflict or war.

Could it possibly be a Terrorist.
I know their life expectancies are very short to say the least.
Especially with bounties on their asses.

But as far as the most dangerous honest job, I might just agree with Mudge.. I seen a documentary once on Deep Sea Tuna Fisherman and that is intense. I would say if their not number 1 they are in the top 5 at least.

I believe what I saw was crab fishing, huge nets and huge cages, but basically any of the deep cold sea stuff is dangerous. High activity, high ocean tides, LONG shifts, bad news all around. I believe I saw on the show that it was the worlds most dangerous occupation, who knows.

I believe I saw the same movie. In the end, they did indicate it was the most dangerous occupation. I thought it was Tuna fishing, but it could of been something else. I know they would go out for days and days to reach their destination. Once there they would fish almost continuously. Guys were lucky if they a couple hours sleep in a 24 hour period. They would fish the icy waters, being pulled in sometimes with fishing nets and rope. Once they had their limit, they would return for a rest point before they go out and do it again.

You did Mudge cause I saw that show also. It was crab fishing but it was King Crab fishing. It is MORE dangerous because the waters in which they are fished from are very treacherous. There are certain areas of the seas that are far more dangerous then other areas due to currents, weather, ice etc.
