Tests of strength

Hey everyone. I was in shops class the other day and some of the guys where talking and the conversation got to pushups, and someone said he'd give $5 to the person that could do pushups on their knuckles with a clap between each rep. I got off an easy 5 and got the money. I'm glad they didn't ask if i could do one handed pushups, because I would have made a fool of myself. My question is what other feats of strength can you guys think of?

picking up boulders, s-10 pick ups, throwing man hole covers, tearing a telephone book, pushing a F-150 pick up [excellent cardio as well] for distance, pulling the pick up back to where you started, lifting weighted garbage cans or 55 gallon drums for reps, farmers walk with 1/2 barrel's of beer[or filled with something else like cement], wt'ed log lifts and presses.

I've seen guys do one handed chinups and guys who could hold on to a vertical bar and lift their body from the ground until it's perpendicular to the bar, and I think I've heard of people doing horizontal chin-ups in that position. Find someone who could do one handed horizontal chin-ups, and you'll have something.

horizontal chinups in itself would be impressive.. i can't even hold that position, let alone, move back and forth.. as for feats of strength, usually, when i get angry and turn green enough, i can toss tanks like sticks, punch though dams, crumble skyscrapers into balls.. stuff like that IF i get angry and turn green but it all depends what side of the bed i woke up on

Keep in mind that I'm only 15, and I'm not gonna be able to easily find and f-150 or some man hole covers. The one with the vertical bar sounds interesting. Can anyone do handstand pushups?

Hand stand pushups aren't that bad (lots of blood to the head though), but one handed pullups forget it.

What was the prize of a local strongman contest? Bragging rights, money?

I knew a guy that could do chin ups (palms away) by pulling the bar down to his waist, 10 times!

Hey Tank,

You mentioned that you trained for your local Strongman contest. Have you ever competed on the World Strongman contest (the one that is on TV) ?

That is an awsome show. I love to watch how big some of those mothers are and some of the things they can lift.

I won free dinner once for dong 100 pushups. I asked the waitress if I could do 100 pushups in 2 minutes or less would they pay my bill. I did, and they did. 1-arm pushups are easy. Every one on TV does them by cheating. The further you spread you feet out, the easier it is.

I've won many bets by claiming I could do between 2 to 300 push-ups in less than a minute. Then get down and do 5 push-ups, you win. Just don't bet someone bigger than you who'll get pissed.

100 pushups in 120 seconds is something I'd have to see, I dont think I'd fall to the ground that fast.

You can't fall to the ground in 2 minutes mudge?
You need to go on a diet then .

Now 100 in 2 minutes, sounds like it could be pretty tight.
I would have to try that one.

And ROCK, what moron would fall for you telling them you could do between 2-300 pushups in less than a minute... ?

It's like standing on the sidewalk and betting someone you can drop a raw egg 5 ft and it won't break open.

Well Tank...

They too had to start somewhere. Maybe someday you can compete with them. That would definately be an honor and something to be proud of.

Well. if the truth be known. I believe that pushups are a muscle memory exercise. We must do them in the military for our Physical Fitness test. Probably 5 guys in my unit, including myself, do over 100 pushups in the two minutes alloted. Some do over 100 situps as well. These are true, perfect form graded pushups, no b***s*** pushups, no rubber chickens, perfect pushups. The funny thing is, I rarely do pushups, mostly benchwork, but I do more pushups than everyone else at work.

Mudge,

You have a good point there. Probably all of those monsters are on steroids.

Well Tank, your much better off with out them. When those guys get a bit older they will be shriveling up and having problems from the steroids, while you'll be going strong like a Tank.
