yeah I have heard the cut, it is tight alright. The biggie verse is from an earlier song with Pac called Runnin, I have never heard the Pac verse though until now. He did do a good job, I usually hate it when Pac's shit is remixed and sampled like that track they out him on with 50, but this one I do like. good lookin out.

You know, I have to say Pac was one hard working individual. From the documentries of his life I saw it said he used to lay 3 or 4 tracks a night. I wonder how mutch stuff of his is left that is still un-released..

IMO his best most relevant project is still unreleased which is a tragedy. Everone knows about the "East and West beef" but that was not what Pac was really about, he was from the east coast for Gods sake. Before he died, he was working on a project that was aimed at uniting the countries best hip hop artists, all the real Mo fos in his eyes, east and west which would've been revolutionary at the time and put an end to the intercostal beef. It was called "One Nation". Here is a quote from pac himself speaking a little about it:
"We got to get the Niggas that runnin' out of here So that's what we doin Now we got One Nation With Greg Nice, Buckshot, Smiff-N-Wesson, Melle Mel, Scorpio, The Luniz, Snoop, Kurupt, Daz, Me, Scarface, Kokane, Bone Thugs, Spice 1 All of 'em on my shit One Nation And it's all about the hip hop nation All the real Niggas that I recognize in the game" Anyways people say he put more into that than any other rpojecy he did, and if we remember back to how monumental of an album Makaveli was in its time, that is pretty nuts. Suge Night still will not release the record due to some BS. It is a tragedy, hopefully someday we will get to hear it. Last edited by gr81 : 10-30-2003 at 11:22 PM. |

yea, thats BIG,,,,
i never used to like him that much, i liked pac a lot more than him, but lately i've been really liking his music. i think he has was a very sick mc, maybe not as good as pac but still pretty damn good. the thing abaout pac is that i think he was a better lyricist, i think writing rhymes came much easier to him....... but its sad that senseless bullshit had to tkae them out, i like the end of Runnin, where BIG is like "i wouldnt wish death on anyone even my enemies.....etc etc.... because that shit comes back to you one day" i thought eminem plugged that beaitufully....... |

Agreed, that east and west beef was BS. The media blew it way out of porportion, and things got out of hand. If anything I blame the media for their deaths. I mean at the music awards they were boo'ing anyone artist from west coast...
You cant really compare big and pac though, they were two tottally different artists. Lyricaly wise, Pac was the better rapper, and he put mutch more feeling into his music. But Biggie was better rythm wise. |

yea, i think Pac has more of a poetic voice, where Big has a straight up hard gangsta deep voice............
but i think, Pac still lived the Thug Life but Big only talked about, while him and Puff were chilling in NY, Pac was gringing it out with Suge in LA which i wouldnt wish on my enemies..... i think Pac definitely had more stress of the two of them, and a lot more pressure from everywhere ! i think if Pac was alive today he wold be the RICHEST black entertainer in the world,,, his image, persona and everything else is MUCH more markatable than Big !!! |

[Interviewer]
Between you and Biggie, it was like, Who's gon', who's gon'.. Who rules the nigga kingdom and shit, basically You know what I'm sayin'... I was like, this is like a fucking election! It is an election and shit, You know what I'm saying? [2pac] It is that, It is that! Me and Biggie's situation is smarter than that, Me and Biggie's situation is like... [Ambulance radio] Central, we got a black male shot... [Singing] You know I wonder if they'll laugh when I am dead... [News reporter] Tupac Shakur got shot 7 times... [2pac] While i'm in jail, strangers is telling me: "You don't know? Biggie homeboy shot you!" And they braggin'! And thats why what I'm doing... I don't know what I'm doing, I'm screaming, i'm screaming... CHORUS: Why am I fighting to live If I'm just living to fight? Why am I trying to see When there ain't nothing in sight? Why am I trying to give When no one gives me a try? Why am I dying to live If I'm just living to die? [Notorious B.I.G.] Check it, I grew up, a fuckin screw-up Got introduced to the game, Got a ounce and fuckin blew up Choppin rocks overnight The nigga Biggie Smalls Tryin to turn into the black Frank White We had to grow dreads To change our description Two cops is on the milk box, "Missing" Show they toes, you know they got stepped on A fist full of bullets, a chest full of teflon Run from the police, picture that Nigga i'm too fat I fuck around and catch a asthma attack That's why i bust back, it don't phase me When he drop, take his glock And i'm swayze Celebrate my escape Sold the glock, bought some weight Laid back, i got some money to make, Motherfucker! -CHORUS- [Notorious B.I.G.] Tupac's still dead, you know what i'm saying... Just... don't feed into it If you feed into it, it's going up and escalate You know what i'm saying... I know about the truth... I know what people would believe that was the truth [2pac] It's on me... But still i'm havin memories Of high speed when the cops crashed, As i laughed Pushin the gas when my Glocks blast We was young and we was dumb but we had heart In the dark, where we survived through the bad parts Many dreams is what i had, and plenty wishes, No hesitation in extermination of these snitches And these bitches, they still continue to persue me A couple o' movies, Now the whole world is tryin to screw me Even the cops tried to sue me So what can I do, but stay true, Sippin 22's of brew And now the media is trying to test me, Got the press asking questions, tryin' to stress me Misery is all I see, thats my mind state My history with the police Would shake the crimerate My main man had two strikes slipped, Got arrested and flipped, He screamed "Thug Life!" and emptied the clip, Got tired of running from the police... -CHORUS- [Notorious B.I.G.] I was shocked and everything, you know what I'm sayin' But i wasn't more shocked of him dying, I was more shocked of him... (*ding*) Pac is a strong dude yo, i know dudes, You know what I'm sayin'... He is real strong, So when they was like "He got shot!", I was more like "Again?", You know what I'm sayin', He always gettin' shot or shot at, He gon' pull through this one again, Make a few records about it, And it's gonna be over, you know what I'm sayin'? But when he, when he died, i was like "Whoa!" You know what I'm sayin', it kinda took me by... And even though we was going through our drama, I would never wish death on nobody, You know what I'm sayin'... Cause they'd be coming back for me! |
