$6000 (give or take a few bucks). I paid off an entire credit card balance thanks to an unexpected bonus at work. That was when I was young and broke too. Felt like I won the friggin lottery.

Does the money have to be mine? Because I've written payroll checks for as high as $300,000.

$25,000 for my recent car purchase...that hurt like sitting on a bicycle with no seat. Yeeks. Had to be certified too...

C'mon man, you know you like that.

Most I ever wrote one of was 20k and it was Western Union, not a personal check. I cannot say what it was for on the grounds that I may incriminate myself. Some in here may know what I mean.

No, it's not believable but if you had written a check for that amount, it was probably from something you ran into (someone else's property) while crashing. And, it was your parent's $$$ !
