Question strange lump on my chest. what is it?

I have this lump under my pecs, right where my top ribs come togther. i felt it one day when i was leaning backwards, cuz then it kinda sticks out. it feels hard, smaller than a golf ball.

i called my doctor friend, and he said it shouldnt be anything to worry about, when ribs form, sometimes there is extra cartilige over the joint area.

..but i wanted to know if anyone has something similar. im gonna go to a specialist over christmas when im in the states. someone else told me it could be ahernia (spelling?)

    your thoughts?
    thanks.

I have this as well and it has been sorta tender over the past couple years. When you rub it you can feel it click. Lately I have started to feel a discomfort it the area that last for a few seconds and then goes away. this has been happening for 4 days. Did you ever find out what yours was? Thanks
