    I DJ.

I also have a studio in my apartment. I do some production when time permits. I work 9 to 5 so when time permits I am working on music. Most of the time I DJ though. I am working on getting a gig on the beach. I spin Tech House.

I played professionally for 11 years, but gave it up for a more stable family life. I still get to use my creative juices being a designer/goldsmith. I play drums and was the lead singer.....no real recording other than with background tracks. You can still hear some of my recordings on the local station now and again(i have friends over there).

    Dj djs ...

a gig on the beach ... very cool! Come to Alberta and you could do a few ski hills during the cool winter months.

What kind of studio do you have in your apartment DJ?

Wanted to do the band thing, but the music I listen to is so obscure it would be somewhat of a sacrafice to try for, and everything kept falling through.

Nothing fancy, I used to dream of thousands of dollars of fancy equipment and processing crap, but I just would mic my cab for any work I did.

I never even got a 4 track, but what I really wanted was an 8 track portable.

I dont play much nowdays but have been picking it up more frequently at least, have been going to shows again which helps.

Vanity/NT.....I use Acid, Sound Forge, Fruity Loops, Rebirth, Reason, Cakewalk, Cubase, etc. I have alot of audio programs. My old roomate used to have an entire set up at our old house. I recommend Reason 2.5. It is out of control. It is a full blown studio on your computer. Does it get any better than that?? Probably the real thing but why spend all the money when you can save some bucks and produce the same quality???

Other than that I have my tables set up against my Window over looking the beach so everytime I spin, I open the blinds and enjoy the view.

It's uplifting, and quite a view.

I play guitar and bass. Also, a little trombone and piano. I planned on going to Berkely College Of Music, but was always afraid of being poor for the rest of my life. I'm hoping to get something together in the near future. I really miss performing!!!

This is another reason I didn't go the music route. Always wanted to have a family.

    The play alternative/Rock.

But I'm doing a project involving a score for an independent film. Also, songwriting in general for them soon!

My taste in composition ranges from broadway all the way to Metal. Nice range, huh?

Everything but Opera, Bluegrass, Jazz and
Speed/Death metal <<=== although I'm capable of performing it!

    Instruments:

    Guitar
    Bass (Basic)
    Drums (Basic)
Piano (I suppose it's the same category as Keyboard!)
    Vocals

I forgot to mention. I don't read music, also. Learned by ear for guitar. took lessons in Piano and Violin.

I never played on a full set (well), it was regular band stuff. I knew how to read notes, so I'd either play a big bass, or whatever during school events. The one time in high school I tried a full drum kit with a single bass, I was horrid. It really is not easy like it looks

Kinda like William Orbit? (Producer of Madonna's previous album, Ray of light)

I love sounds that emanate from a keyboard. I prefer Kurzweil's and Roland's.... kick ass! But on a lower end, Yamaha's PSR versions ($300 range) are great, too!
