    X=xl?

    Is it just my imagination or have shoe and clothing manufacturers altered or "downsized" the standard sizes of their products?
    I can't wear XL shirts anymore, due to the width of my shoulders, (not my girth, believe it or not), and I swear I've increased a size or more in shoes over the course of the past year or so.

    Am I alone in this observation?

    Not for me anyways ... 29 pants and medium shirts have always done it for me.

    Narrow ass.

    Seriously, I tried on a blazer/sport coat the other night, and it felt like I could literally rip the back out of the thing.

    I must be "growing" again.

    Exactly....Nike especially, at least for me....usually 1 size difference.

    Firsty, "Floridian resident" is redundant and/or awkward.

    Secondly, my neck has never been, nor will it ever be, red.

    Thirdly, you will never be on the 'receiving end' of anything that is mine.......Has Tit been wearing the strap-on again?

    Some XXL shirts fit me well, some fit me a bit loose and long. Just like manufacturers can remove 1g from a 1 pound package legally, it seems that they feel they can fib on fabric too.

    Next thing we know size 12 shoes will really be 11 1/2, and you'll start seeing a dozen eggs being 11

    I would agree that XL is not what it used to be.

    I did an inventory at a textile warehouse (big brand name) and they had an entire room full of jeans. When I asked what was special about them, they said "these are re-sizes."

    Turns out, when they had an order and did not have enough of a certain size, they changed the tag. I wanted to write them up for that but the partner said it wasn't our mission.

    I have found that it depends on the manufacturer. There are some where I can wear a large shirt, but others I need an XL. Sneaker sizes vary depending on which country they are manufactured in. I haven't bought a sport coat in years so I can't help you there.

    Since fade rarely ever buys clothes without me... I've noticed he's gone from a medium to a large shirt
