Which do you prfer when watching movies? I like full screen. I don't see why anyone would like widescreen. You don't see the whole picture, because it turns your 50" plasma into a 25" plasma.

Since a chunk is missing on the top of the screen and the bottom.
my sister and i had this arguement last week. i'm with you. she's all for widescreen. actually....i don't care THAT much but sometimes i get nostalgic and just want to argue with her like when we were kiddies.
 You sound like my sister and I :D We still have girly fights sometimes :pQuote:

I like widescreen. Cuz its easier on the eyes, more "real" since the format "fools" the brain somehow, thats why widescreen tvs are the future.
I have a wide screen projection tv, not plasma, so I still get the bars on the top and bottom, therefore I prefer full screen when viewing DVD's that have the option for wide and full.
Wide screen lets you see more of the shot on the sides... fade prefers wide and I don't really care.
hey, speaking of fade, where has he been? how is his foot/ankle?
My parents have a 77" Wide screen TV. On that I would rather watch wide screen, nothing is missing whereas on my 34" tv, alot would be missing with Wide screen. But if you watch Full Screen on my parents then the sides are missing.
But all the special editions LOTR DVD's are in widescreen! That sucks!! And all the Video warehouse rents is widescreen, so I have to keep my vcr plugged in also.
77"?
My lord, that is huge!
what advantage does having a Plasma screen give you?Quote:

His ankle was doing fine although he still had some swelling that just wouldn't go away... but he twisted it again this past weekend.
I told him he was just too old to be running around like a big kid :eek2:
they are wider, more like a movie screen.Quote:

If you are speaking vs. a normal TV then yes palsma is more clear. However LCD is much better than plasma for many reasons. The only reason that plasma is around is because LCD is only made up to a 35" TV.

It depends to what you want to compare it to. List, and I will answer ;)
We have a 54” widescreen HDTV and I love it. That thing kicks ass when watching DVDs. Too bad most of the channels are not in HD yet, but in a few years they will hopefully.
man, my 42" just went belly up the other day..and am without $$ to replace it...
life will suck...I might have to resort..to..reading...books......
I was thinking the same thing ... but I believe she is 5 weeks in which would put it just after Vegas. :hehe:Quote:

I'm 6 wks now and am due in August.
that could have made me an internet-step-uncle or something like that. ;) :D
Widescreen lets you see the full shot. In fullscreen, they cut off the sides of the shot, to make it into a square picture that fits your entire screen.Quote:

Watching a movie in widescreen means you're watching it the way the director intended, and seeing everything that you're supposed to see.
Pushin' rock to page 3!
Exactly. Widescreen is 5 times better than full screen. When watching dvds in full screen and widescreen I can totally tell the difference in quality, the full screen versions look worse and the picture looks more stretched from cropping the original film.Quote:

I'd have to agree. I think the wide screen format looks better (same format the original movie was in, is it not?)
Wife on the other hand thinks I'm nuts and doesn't really give a ****.
