Others-I mean really, if you are going to do something illegal, at least have the smarts to not use your own bank account/checks, it's just common sense. Truthfully, in the end, I think this will only hurt the rich, which I am not, so I don't care.

Bernie S. went to prison and was nearly killed indirectly for possesing a photo of an FBI agent picking his nose. How come my Father's files keep getting pulled up all the time? He has never spent time in jail, never been arrested, nada. Coming from a family in politics, and people of power in the military, I'm sure has nothing to do with it. There must be some secret drug running and gambling ring I'm just not aware of.

I am not even saying I am for or against this new law, but I am not at all of the belief that any large corporation, or the government or its "subsidiaries" are free from sin and that they only look at people who are actually doing things illegally.

Thats like saying the police are perfect too, its just absolutely untrue. Things go on that most normal people dont know about.

I'm not huge on conspiracy theories either, but I do believe somewhat in the "trust nobody" mode of thinking.

While i can understand the "it doesn't affect me, so i don't care" argument... it's not a very productive attitude.

Although i almost always vote republican (registered independent), i dont really agree with this whole push towards less and less privacy. While it may not affect you right now, it sets a dangerous precedent for future "patriot act" style laws. What if the next thing is search and siezure without a warrant? It may prevent a terrorist attack, but at the cost of an increasingly militant state.

Personally, i'd prefer a restricted government which preserves all it's citizens privacies, at the expense of an ocassional terrorist attack. It's the risk you take for living in a country with such liberties. Don't like it, move to China.

Its a shame, but what it comes down to is you have to watch out for you and your own. I will always trust people to an extent, but with the knowlege that there is always that chance someone may do you wrong, its a bummer.

I understand how you feel Mudge. I hope you can trust some people here. You've been very helpful to alot of people, if they were gonna burn you, I think someone would have by now.
