Devil What is the worst "Gym Lie" that you ever heard ?

Some years ago I was instructed by "professionals" of the bodybuilding world. But they had so many "mis-information" that entirely stopped all my progress. I am not mad because I found soon enough that something was not right. But I have heard so many bad information that I decided to list a few :

-You need to sweat a lot, thatīs how you burn fat.

-If you do 20 reps per set, you will get muscle definition, there is no other way.

-Train everyday as much as you can. Overtraining ? That doesnīt exist.

Like I said thatīs what I can remember now.
Do you remember more ?

Supplementing with protein will stunt your growth. I heard that said by some younger highschool kids who were lifting in my gym. Prolly not a gym lie for this context, it is just that they didn't know and they prolly just heard it as a rumor.

Guy I work with is convinced that Creatine is a drug similar to "roids". I'm not kidding. He was shocked and appalled when I told him I "use" it.

My younger brother refused to use it even though I told him it was in meat, obviously I didn't push him I just told him that it was kind of ridiculous. Of course he would drink alcohol though

Can't believe I didnt think of that one! One of my biggest pet peeves. I feel another one of those heated debates coming on...

Squatting below parallel will hurt your knees.

Turn your toes in and out to hit the inner and outer calf.

Declines work your "lower" chest.

This may not be a "gym lie", but a misconception along the same lines. I love when out of shape guys say, "I dont want to build muscles, I just want to cut up what I got".

A similar one is women saying they dont want to lift because they'll get "bulky".
