    What book should I buy?

Well, I got a gift certificate from a friend to Borders and don't know what to buy. Just to get it out there, I do not read for enjoyment, I read to learn, so I am looking for something fitness related. I currently have the ACE and NSCA manuals, The Sport Nutrition Guidebook, and an Exercise Phys textbook. Anyojne got any other required reading? I was thinking of getting ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, but want to leave no stone unturned.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

try and get something form bill star likt Defying gravity.

Or something form fred hatfeild like "power" or "a scientific approach to bodybuilding". Both are good books.

Mel Siff's "super training" is also a good read.

MuscleMag International has a book for Bodybuilders I think is real good: MUSCLE BUILDING 101: THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SHAPING YOUR PHYSIQUE, by Robert Kennedy. ISBN: 1552100081. If you go to www.emusclemag.com and go to the U. S. site (MuscleMag is Canadian in origin but publishes for Bodybuilders around the world) and see the various things for sale and see "fitness books" there are a lot of good books available there. You could also try borrowing any of them from a library (they can even borrow from other libraries if your library does not have the title itself) and see if it is something you like before you actually buy the book. Here's another damn good book: MUSCLE BUILDING FOR EVERY BODY, by Robert Kennedy (MuscleMag International, c2002) ISBN: 1552100251. Get a copy at the bookstore and look at it and see for yourself or ask your library to get a copy or borrow it from another (if they do not own it and will not buy it for your library) and see for yourself. I think it is about the most complete book I have ever seen as far as basics and even advanced information is concerned for the "success and the doing" in Bodybuilding - pretty straightforeword and down-to-earth. Take Care, John H.

Hey John. I thought that because you always recommend if they donīt have something they can borrow from another library.
In the subject of library, I love them. I visited some in U.S. They have a "touch" of noir, suspense .. a lot of hidden secrets in those books.

Hi Vieope. Libraries are the VERY BEST thing that happened to the world. The better the collection (its resources, its completeness, etc.) and the better the staff and their ability to answer or find answers and honestly helping people and being respectful to people, the better the institution. They ARE our foundation in the United States for sure and should be allowed and encouraged to become even better. They should be our "home away from home" and our source for ALL information. Take Care, John H.
