    Dogs

2 people are talking about another person. " bob has a dog he wants to give away. 14 week old mix bulldog/collie. if you don't want it, he says that he's going to toss it out into the woods to die. do you want another dog?"

Person 2- "no, but thanks anyway"

So what does person 2 do now. take the poll

'take the dog then take her to the spca'

save the poor dog! even if you dont want it then it would be easier for you to find it a HOME or put it in a shelter rather than have the evil man do away with it!

I'd take the dog, and see if I can get it to someone

I would take it, train it and give it to an elderly person. It's just a baby at 14 weeks. I can legally have 10 dogs so that would make my count nine. What the hell does a collie/bulldog look like? What do you call it a "bullie"?

Worse case I would take it to my vet, she finds homes for every dog she gets, if not she takes them to her farm.

    Butterfly,

You sound like a pretty cold hearted human being....

    Sorry Burner,

I'm sure she is in many ways, but this obviously isn't one of them.
And I am just stating my opinion. To me anyone who abuses animals, or knows of someone abusing or thinking of abusing an animal and not willing to help them is not a very good person in my mind. I know this would not be considered her personally abusing the animal, but being told that an animal will be harmed and not even offering to help by calling the SPCA or reporting them, again is pretty cold hearted in my mind.

I direct this toward butterfly or anyone else that would not reach out and at least try to help. I guess that is just me.
I am far from perfect, but I feel that I do have a sense of humanity.

alright , calm down Randy. your passion , although admirable, is getting in the way of your discussion. I think maddog and eggs said it best about a discussion with me about another issue- a forceful argument is better than an argument by force. Not that you have done this here but Any time a person resorts to threats of attack or accuses the person of cowardise, it diminishes the strength of the point being made.

It's not just a dog, it's a 3 month old puppy. If you "toss" it out into the woods to survive on it's own you are basically tossing it old to be eaten by some other wild animal. We have to understand that we have domesticated dogs and they aren't born knowing how to survive on their own, especially at 3 months.

Would you toss this guy out to be slaughtered by coyotes?

I have 2 dogs now.. One is part dachsund/terrior as in my photo gallery, and the other is purebred yorkie . Now I call both of them some pretty choice words sometimes (not sure dorkie is one of them). I'll tell you though, those terriors can be terrors My gf just bought me a new pair of 60 dollar leather slippers and not more than a week they were shredded . There were many choice words flying that day.

    3 incidents

despite the minus 40 degree weather the last few weeks, people saw nothing wrong with abandoning dogs and puppies to fend for themselves in the sub zero cold. A mother and six of her pups wer left along the side of a road. In another , 4 puppiers were found in a box on a trail. In the 3rd, 5 pups were left in a garbage bag at the road side. 2 of the pups died.
Legislation to charge people for these criminal acts has not been brought about. Cruelty towards animals seems to be a non-issue in our courts. A recent case had a man charged with beating his daughter's puppy to death with a shovel, in full view of the daughter. apparently the man had gotten into an argument with his wife about the dog lying down on his sweater. so he beat the dog to death, caving the dog's head in while the daughter watched, helpless ( she was 7 ).
" leaving helpless puppies in sub zero temperatures along the side of the road lies beyond the imagination. those who would do such things are not representative of the majority. There are seriously disturbed individuals."

    taken from several sources.

    Those are sad cases Marcus.

I agree with you. I think the courts are far to lenient with cruelty to animal cases. I think the laws should definately be changed.

a man was just charged with the killing of a fawn in a local protected wildlife park. Seems that the guy and 2 of his friends thought that it would be fun to chase down a fawn and it's mother. they caught the baby then proceeded to kick and beat it to death, finally stabbing it several times. this was done in full view of a number of other people who, up until that time had been enjoying the winter day in the park.
The man ( 24 years old ) was given 7 days in jail and fined 2000 bucks. the other 2 people who were with him at the time did not show up for their court appearance.

no one was starving. it was done for the amusement value only.

that would be great for an 'eye for an eye'
go find a couple ruttin' bucks and put them all in a pen and let them all see how funny the unarmed 'men' think that was..

    That is rediculous Marcus...

There is definitely a serious problem with our justice system.
I agree with Burner. Toss their asses in with a bunch of wild bucks. Then we can all stand around and laugh at them while the bucks stomp their pathetic asses. Now I would bring popcorn to that event. That would be a must see.

How could someone committing such an offense only get 7 days and 2000.00 fine? Is that what they would give someone who murdered a human beings mothers baby? Hell No! What is really different?
