The person giving the massage is NOT getting $40, they are getting a small percentag of that $40, the rest goes to the owner to cover overhead costs. It's the same with all service related positions. You worked in a bar, you should know. The bartender sure as hell doesn't keep $5 from every drink he pours or $2.50 for every beer.Originally posted by irontime

Well actually I know a massage therapist, and while the customer pays 40 - 50 for a massage the person doing it gets most of it. This chick gets like 35 - 40 per massage. and No

Plus, the tip can be the difference in getting an average massage and a great one. Just like everything... if you want the person to put their best into it, you need to provide the motivation for it.
