    scary weekend: Neighbors got robbed!

This weekend was really scary for the tit and me. Friday night at about 3 am someone came knocking on our door and ringing the doorbell, but I didn't see anyone so I didn't open the door. After while I find out that it was the cops, getting a report of a robbery. Right across the hall of our apartment complex are some friends of ours and turns out MY next door neighbors had snuck in and started taking things out of our buddies' apartment. Then a person in the complex was walking by and saw them running out of one apartment into theirs. So he/she hauls ass and the robbers run into their apartment. Then they call the cops (by the way, the cops rang our bell cuz all they knew is it was the "guys across the hall") to report it and turns out they stole about $5000 in video games, a PS2, DVDs, and music CDs from the apartment and one of the girls' cars.

The next night tit and I join up with the guys that got robbed in a cook out (where we ate "anti-burglar burgers"). We see the bad guys leave their apartment and during a series of cat-calls one of their guys yell something in Spanish, but luckily tit is, gasp, Puerto Rican and replied with a "GRACIAAAAAAAAAAAS!" Turns out, they screamed something about "Hey dicksuckers we stole your (blank)"

UNFORTUNATELY tit didn't get that last word in. She either didn't hear it or it was some slang that she does not know.

So now the witness identified the guy, BUT he/she didn't CLEARLY see what they were stealing. Then Tit translates the confession, BUT she didn't get that last word in. For all the cops care they stole a burger from our cook out.

So now they can't fucking do anything about it. And it scares me that I'm not always here with Tit and she lives next door to potentially dangerous people. They're all thugged out, and I'm guessing drug dealers guessing from how many just random people show up at their door and leave quickly. I don't know what else they're capable of, and it so fucking pisses me off. I've lost so much sleep just wondering what the hell I'd do if they harmed tit while I wasn't around.

Sorry to hear that bro... any chance of you guys being able to move? I know its a crap reason for you guys to have to move, but sometimes its just better that way. How long until your lease is up at that pad?

that's the kinda good thing, our lease is done in just a couple months. We're out this summer. Plus there's a petition going about trying to move us all to another building, evict the robbers, or some kind of reimbursement or feeling of safety.

The big part that pisses me off is that although we have detectives on the case now, the cops could do nothing at all. All they did was say that they have cases all over town and "If they drive such a nice car (some fancy model) what would be their point in stealing CDs and video games?" They were real skeptical asswipes.

That's bullcrap. What if I worked at a register and every time a customer came up to me I blurted out "C'mon, I got people all day come up to me asking me to sell them things, I don't have time to mess with you"

Yeah, thats pretty cheese dick on the cops parts...

I mean, if they are driving a really nice car and living in an apartment building, then I personally think thats something fishy going on. Unless its a private 1 floor suite overlooking central park..

Glad to hear the lease is up in the not too distant future. Thats one of the things I definitely want to do when Jenny gets over here... find a really safe neighborhood since she is out running and stuff so much.

Crono I am sorry to hear that.

My mom was burgularized 2 weeks ago and she walked in on them. Thank God she is fine, they threw some stuff at her and bruised her up pretty bad. I am just thankful they didnt have a gun. They stole all her jewelry, cds, cell phone, money and even her SUV. They found her SUV that night and the damn cops didnt even fingerprint it.

I am with you as far as the cops and detectives go. She has done her own detective work and given the detectives leads to follow up on and they wont. They are being real dicks about it.

I feel like they dont do a thing until someone dies. Its such a shame.

What is even worse, is when someone is being stalked and raped, and they say "oh well maybe you let him in through your window."

Being a victim of a crime, wether indirectly or directly is a very helpless frustrating feeling. I remember when I was doing OBGYN in South Central Los Angeles. Later in the day I drove a rental car to go to my interview at Harbor UCLA and got carjacked and roughed up. Luckily, I had a habit of putting my money, credit cards and license in my shoes and leaving a AMEX card in my back pack. They took the car and my backpack and I just needed some stitches in the ER. The next day, the big earthquake hit and destroyed Highway 5....needless to say, I decided against LosAngeles as my residency training area.

The cops were very blase about the whole thing. I realize that they see this all the time and the fact that I was just slightly hurt probably put my case at the bottom of their pile of crimes that they see in LA. (They found the car later and the folks who roughed me up were never found...there were three, a woman and two men....probably drug hoodlums...by the way, the woman had the gun and wanted to shoot me but setteled for clipping me in the face) . There were very few bystanders and they did absolutely nothing.

    Crono/Bandaid,

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate situations..
I have had the same experience with police. Most of them that I've ever had to deal with have been very unhuman, egotistical, and outright pricks. I always wonder where their mission statement came from, "To Serve and Protect." They always seem to treat you like the criminal. I guess they just do that best. I don't trust them in the least.

Your petition sounds like a good plan Crono...
Then the landlord can evict the sobs

yeah, it was seen people moving from the victom apartment to the robber's apartment, but the police spent easily 80% of the time saying that we, even the witness, don't know who it is. I mean even IF that were the case, it should be such procedure that they can just assume it but take our testimony, instead they kept telling us we don't know what we're talking about. Just shut the fuck up and listen to our story, and assume that there is some guilt because of freakin' witnessing it.

Seriously, it proves that as long as you're not caught, you can fucking get away it anything. Take whatever you want, who needs a fucking job, let everything go to hell, who needs rights or morals, as long as cops don't have to do their fucking job!

The only thing the cops are good for is taking reports and telling you they don't have enough evidence to do anything. They're also good at harrasing innocent people and spending their time issuing worthless citations when they can be catching real criminals like the robbers mentioned here. They want to witness the robbers carrying the TV out of the house before they will confront them Damn bastards

The key is to sue them first for MAKING you shoot them. They will think twice before persuing their case. You do not have to drag them back inside though, that is tampering with evidence. lol

Or just make sure the hit counts, then tell the cops that the gun looked real.
Be sure to keep a fake plastic gun w/no fingerprints in a plastic bag in your house at ALL times incase this ever happens to you.. Then just help his dead ass grip it.

In good news, A check cashing store(here in Fl) was robbed last night.. Or, 3 people tried at least. 2 thugs rushed the store at night with handguns, but the clerk beat them to the draw- killed one, and held their driver at gunpoint until police arrived, the third man(The survivor of the two robbers)hasnt been found.
I dont like the idea of killing anyone; but when you have people like this in the world, its necessary.
