    I've seen a previous version.

If and when I can get my 240 running in the shape I'd like, it will be the fastest car I've owned. My Z28 was putting out about 470 HP at the crank, and yes it was an experience.

The 240 is about 1100 pounds lighter, and I'm looking for about 450 HP.

I remember years ago in a Hot Rod magazine, some guy took his '70 240 and put a reworked Corvete engine in it. Said it was getting 0 - 60 times in the 3 second range....that would be a helluva ride!

Darius who lives across the bay from me, has a blown LT1 in his, but he can't get any hookup. He is making a little under 600 HP if I recall, but he can only muster 11s out of it. He was moving to 19" rear wheels and finally putting fender flares on it but I haven't been on the boards much and he doesn't post a whole lot either.

I'm not looking to drag though so times aren't a huge priority for me, but I wont run any tires that low profile either. The cars with LS1s in them bone stock, are running 11s although typically automatics. One guy I helped program his PCM when he had an LT1, is not running a 99 LS1/4L60 bone stock 11.4@119 I believe.

His videos are all over the net though, if you see a black 240 racing bikes and doing other various street stuff (burnouts etc).

He was running 17x8" or 18x8" HREs with his old times.

A 1970 240Z should weigh in stock about 2140-2170 pounds, they dont get much heavier until the later 70s (thickness of body metal etc). My 73 is listed as I think 2360 stock. It will lose some weight with a V8 because there is a ton of extra iron on those straight 6s, plus with its length vs a V8 it will improve weight distro to about 49F/51R. I have 15x7" on there now, will move to 16/17x8" until I can get some custom race wheels which will cost a bit of moola, plus require body work.

The bolt pattern and offset is the same as the old 60s non-V8 Mustangs, so they are readily available for a while longer through Centerline for about $400 (all four).
