what is the opinion about these in the western world?

Are they fashionable? Crap? Cheap or expensive??

i guess depending on how much you want to spend Kuso, i have seen them range from 40 to 90 dollars. i do plan on buying one myself, i keep using my Polar heart monitor watch, sorta looks AlBoBish if you know what i mean.lol

I have one on now. That is all I wear. The watch is very indestructable. I wear it in everything I do. Camping, yardwork, swimming............never misses a lick. I paid a little over $100 for mine. Would own nothing else. Waterproof to 200m and the nightglow really shines at night.

Cool guys, thanks VERY much. Its actually not for me ( though I may grab one too ) its a limited edition one with a famous PRIDE fighters logo etc on it and I thought I may be able to sell it and make some $$$

I work for a watch company. We have our own generic brand but I use G-Shock to work almost everyday. Its 10 years old now and only needed to change batteries twice.

G-Shock is a line of sport/rugged watches made by Timex. (At least I'm pretty sure they're made by Timex.) You'll recognized them by their bulky appearance and black rubberized exterior.

The Japanese go crazy for them over here, I don't know why as small as they are it looks like they have an alarm clock strapped to their arm.

Theirs alot of cheap rip offs too, like Z-Shocks and G-Shox.

Somewhat tough, overall I like them. The main weakness is the wrist band IMO.
