tobacco lines the pockets of politicians that's why.......and they are a huge part of our economy------it's like gov. drug dealing....gets them more of our money through both product and taxes....who cares if it's addictive it only helps sales

As an ex-smoker I am NOT a supporter of the industry, but let me just play Devil's advocate here for a second. Didn't we try to do this same thing back in the 20's and 30's with alcohol? Again, I agree with you, I see absolutely zero redeeming qualities to tobacco use but, do you really think we can outlaw it?
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

No, it shouldn't. If you can sell it, you should be able to advertise. Personally, I don't like it, but if things keep going the way they are, peeps will only be able to smoke in a 4'x4' boxed in area in each city anyway.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Who is their target audience? Can't be the adults who are already smoking they have their fav. cigs, can't be adults who were able to resist the peer pressure of their youth, so it must be KIDS since most smokers started in their teens, and the rest started after they started drinking.

whether we agree with it or not, thats our free enterprise society at work. If we bann this then whats to stop people from getting all up in arms about something else that offends someone somewhere? I don't smoke, nor do I support it. In fact I can't stand being around smoking even, but I think they have a right to advertise and do their thing. If we take away that right then what path our we going down? Besides there are enough of those Truth commercials to make me sick anyways!

I too, do not agree with it, but then again, I don't agree with all the toy adds during childrens programing.

If they are allowed to sell it, they should be allowed to advertise it.

I don't know that it has anything to do about having balls or not. IMO, I feel it would put a lot of people out of work........which is what I think a lot are looking at.

Either way, if you REALLY think about it. You'd be harming the people who smoke (mentally) and the ones that don't. What I mean by that is.....people who are already smoking are at a much higher risk of death..........cut out the tobacco industry and look at how many people will be out on the streets, wishing the worst! It would def. be a bitter sweet ending of course.

In all actuality, I believe it's up to society to quit smoking and "ban" it themselves from their daily living. This is just my opinion.

I heard somewhere that everytime a smoker sticks that cigarette in their mouth they might as well be sticking the dick of one of the corporate heads at Philip-Morris, RJ Reynolds etc. in their mouth.

What's most disturbing to me is I saw on the news one night a 5 year old in N.Korea smoking a cigarette.
