I'm Having Computer Issues-HELP
Hey If anyone knows anything about computers I need help.
My sister gave me her Gateway computer, (she got a new one) and I hooked up with Everyone's Internet..
Spoke with them last night and they walked me through setting it up correctly.
My problem is I can't get internet connection!! I have the plug going from the wall to the phone, then to the computer ...
and Tried many other ways and still no connection. It keeps telling me the problem is in the phone line..to check them..
My cords work right.. phone works.. I'm thinking it could be the phone jack on the back of the computer.. My sister had the same problem-- took it to Gateway.. and then gave it to me.. so I guess they didn't even fix it.
Should I try more ways??
Or take it back to them since I still have warranty?
HELP Please!!!

Yes there is an in and an out on the modem make sure the line coming from the wall is on the in jack.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles

Yes I do have internet connection..the guy from everyones internet said it should work fine.
It has 2 holes for a phone jack in the back...but doesn't say in or out on either..

Some are labeled phone and line you want the line jack, some have a pic of a phone and a drawing that resembles the jack in the wall use the that one.

What's weird is they don't say anything!!!! It has numbers above each.
My mom said she would take it to Gateway tomorrow for me..but I'm trying to fix it on my own.. This computer has been to Gateway about 4 times since My sis bought it 1.5 yrs ago. And they keep it forever!

Did you switch the lines in the back and try connecting again?

Yep I switched them OVER & OVER & OVER & OVER Again... my smart computer friend was on the phone with me (ON MY CELL) & we can't figure it out.??!
