How long can IT go?

Here's the situation, I've been chugging a bit too much beer and I've decided to go for a while without alcohol.

We've got company comming over on Sunday, so that's out. So I figure I'll start Monday, which is April 5, and go until my Buddies bachelor party on June 5. Two whole goddamn months without a drop of lucious alcohol

What do you think my odds are?

it sort of depends. How much booze will you still have in the house on Monday? If there is still booze in the house, I say you are screwed.

I'm trying to cut out alcohol, but I've got a case of beer in the fridge and two bottles of red wine. Not easy!!

I've already taken that into consideration, and no matter how plastered I get, I will make sure that on Sunday, by midnight, there is not a single drop left in the house

But it's going to be much harder this round, I've done it before while going home for the summer and working, I also had my buddy go alcohol free with me while I was doing it. Granted I'm sure my girlfriend will help, it's still going to be tougher.

PreMier hit it on the head. If you were really gonna quit drinking for a significant amount of time, you would have already started. The fact that you fell you HAVE to drink because people are coming over on Sunday shows that you are not serious. I am speaking as someone who knows. One Sunday I gave up drinking for 2 months, but I made a bunch of "special days" where I could. By the time I mapped out all the special days, I had about 10 days in that 2 months that I wasn't drinking. Boy I loved college.

Plus, I don't see you making it thru Memorial Day either.

I'll admit you have a very good point. But I have done this before, I give myself the last few days before the big plunge. Plus I'm waiting till monday just so that it makes and even 2 months that I'll go without

Don't ask me why I'm doing it that way, just am.

Well you guys better get used to seeing this thread, hopefully for the next two months. I'll admit if I cave in.

Well I tried my best to get rid of all the booze last night, but I just didn't feel like drinking anymore. I was already stumbling and very tired. But no problem, the beer is out of the fridge and in the closet getting very warm, so not much chance of me wanting to drink that. And hopefully I'll get the grilfriend to finish off the Vodka, it's raspberry flavoured so she likes it too.

The first week is always the hardest so this is gonna suck

The absolute hardest part about quitting smoking was that my wife never did. As a matter of fact, she still smokes. It wasn't the smell, it was the availability of them that made it rough. Now you're gonna do the same thing with the sauce? Good luck buddy, I know what you're going through.

Should be getting pretty bad cravings tomorrow night.
I usually have a couple of drinks a night, but Wensday's are my night to enjoy a six pack and lounge around while the gf plays hockey. I know last night I caught myself wanting a nice cold rye and coke, so tomorrow should definitely suck
