    Quite the dilemma...

I have 2 opportunities that are on my lap right now and I don't kno which to choose.

Job A would be an increase in salary, maybe $5000, but I would say my workload will prolly more than double. It is a great opportunity to work in Cancer research and I would have a very fancy title, but I would be locked in an office most of the day. I imagine the amount of stress involved with this job will be great and I do not know all that much about cancer so i will be playing catch up alot. Met the people and they are all awesome

Job B would be the same salary as my current job, but I think my workload may even drop. The opportunity here is that I would be doing strictly patient monitoring which is both something I have never done, and something that is highly coveted by employers. I would be talking to people pretty much all day. The downside is I keep the same title and just switch departments.

My typical response would be to take the money, but I think the stress will be HYOOOOGE. I imagine the money would be offset by alot more hours. I am partial right now to taking the low stress opportunity, but would love the extra money. Given my position, what would you do?

Funding for my position is ending so I have to choose between these two. The funny thing is, I dictate when it ends by how quickly I finish what i am currently doing. Once statisical analysis is done, all of the projects I worked on will be done. No more pregnancy stuff.

I think it boils down to what you want to do in the future. What kind of work do you see yourself doing in 5, 10 yrs???

Are looking at working your way up the corporate ladder??? Or are you a hands on kind of guy and prefer to work with people???

The increase in income is about $415 a month before taxes. But if you are trying to finish school, is it really worth all the extra work and stress?

my old job and other oppertunity I would have been always busy

plus I like talking to people so I would take the less stressfull job

Ya know what BF, I completely forgot about that. Once I switch Depts I will be able to take classes for free since I will be a University employee and not a hospital one. That is one more vote for option B.

What she said. Look at where you are and where you want to be. Which one of these two options will better get you there? That's the one you want.

well if ur still young i would pick option A,
Bust ur ass now that way later in life u could take it easy.
Thats my personal opinion. B/c if ur getting by with the money ur making now that extra 5k if u were to save half of it and put it in retirement account, 2500 yr x 10 yrs =25k, with a average return u could easly have close to 40k. Which could come in handy for a house or numerous other things.

    But thats IMO.
