I work for NASA/JSC as the IT Export Coordinator, normal 9-5, M-F schedule.

When I used to work out, I did so in the evenings with my hubby and son. Not sure how things will be after the baby comes.

There is a saying that goes "The more you have to do, the more you do."

Finding a job that you love is hard but well worth it even if it means compromising salary or time. I feel sorry for those that work long hours (some wall street consultants etc.) who absolutely despise what they do. (My brother was one of those working the same hours as myself and making half a million but was miserable and now works in the IT field at a far less salary.)

I work a minimum of 80 85 hours a week on a good week and probably will for the rest of my life, but I love what I do, even at 2 in the morning. I will never have holidays off, but then, so do alot of other fields of work.

I race mountain bikes and do well so I know you can combine work and keeping fit but it involves alot of creativity and compromise. For instance, I sometimes do night rides on the trail after 9:00 pm after I have put my daughter to sleep. I am not constrained by cooking, cleaning or laundry (my husband does that) and my house is a pig sty. (No, I don't hire cleaning ladies since my mom does that for a living and I would feel guilty.) And we have no TV.

Of course, I have learned to function with very little sleep.

Thanks for replying everybody - it's cool to hear what people are doing. It makes everyone seem a little more human (just a little).

I'm just going to throw this question out there:

Can anyone give me some advice and tips on where to start researching education/jobs in the nutrition/dietician field? I'm sure we have some certified dieticians on this board, so I'd like to ask you guys a few questions. Thanks a lot!

Some jobs require strange hours, but have good schedules ( 3-12's) is a good schedule, and I usually get to work it.

What I like about my job is that not only does it allow you to workout, it requires it. (I'm in the Army).
