I think I have a problem. Now, when I train I listen to a lot of punk rock and heavy metal but the problem is when I am sitting at home, kind of like now. I am stuck in a music time warp. here is what I have been listening to:
Neil Diamond- "sweet caroline"
"america"
Barry Manilow- "Mandy"
Bonnie Tyler- "Total Eclipse of the Heart...turnaround"
Dion and the Drifters- "Runaround sue"
" the wander"
"teenager in love"
Anything from the beach boys and Styx
The Penguins- "Earth Angel"
I can't stop downloading this music......SOMEONE HELP!!!!!

It’s probably a security sort of thing. You must have had some good times in your life when you were listening to that and don't want to let it go. Try to wean yourself off with something totally different with no lyrics and less structure. If you like the oldies (my era) try Tangerine Dream or Jean Luc Ponte. Their style really gets me motivated and it’s very uplifting and mysterious in an adventurous sort of way and never seems to date itself. They were lightyears ahead of their time.

Yes, no doubt those songs make me happy, and some make me sad but they just all have some sort of meaning and make me feel a certain way so that is why I listen to them so much.
Never heard of Tangerine Dream. Although he is talented, I am not a big fan of Jean Luc Ponte. I could never get into his music that much.

LOL, the reason I listen to all these songs, besides the fact that I love them is that one of my best freinds loves them also. Whenever she is feeling down I always send her a cheer up email and usually put the lyrics form one of these songs in it because I know she loves 80s love songs. I just say "hey, remember this song? it is so good" then I put the lyrics down. She tells me that it makes her so happy when I do this. She says she laughs and feels really good when I do this because as she is reading it in her head she hears my voice and imagines I am singing it to her and it cheers her up![]()

so...when exactly did your nuts fall off?
actually i like all kinds of music from all eras...a good song is timeless IMO and often there are emotional ties to certain songs...if it makes you feel good and you enjoy it....crank it up, no matter who it is....shit...i have BonJovi in my CD player right now!
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.
When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us.
I have noticed that musical taste is quite varied in different regions...i was born in Brooklyn and I know you are in Manhattan P-Funk.
Us yankees tend to like some of the "golden oldies" alot more, especially certain singers and groups since they were played alot on the radio up there...NY has great stations!...I just so happen to like alot of the people you mentioned earlier.
At least that is my theory and I am stickin to it.
Fuk youz guyz!
