Well, well, well....I got another new buddy! Hell yeah I know wrestling is scripted, but guess what?

SO ARE MOVIES!!!!!! SO ARE BOOKS!!!! HELLLOOOOO!!!!

I dont for one minute let myself think that Sylvester Stallone is really Rambo, or Tom Cruise is really the last samurai anymore than I let myself believe that each wrestler is really like that. They play a friggin character just like movie stars do. For christs sakes, its just living theater! I still derive entertainment from it and yes it kicks ass!!Favorites?

Well my family pretty much grew up with the famous masked wrestlers of Mexico. My father and mother grew up with Mil Mascaras and his brothers cause they lived in the same neighborhood. I never met them because by the time I was born they had all gone their separate ways. Then I came to the US and that was all she wrote. One of my cousins in Mexico is married to a man who trained with Hijo De El Santo, Blue Demon, Mil Mascaras whenever he was in town, and most of the newer ones. He was also working with the promotion company for a while.

I grew up in the 60s in a city that was a mecca for pro wrestleing. This was back before it got huge, but it was always huge with me. Dick the bruiser, Baron Von Rascke, Bo Bo Brazil, Vern Gania, Andre the Giant...ect Ive seen them all wrestle often sitting in the first few rows. Oh man the fun we had, the great wrestleing we saw.

Now its huge. But what I have always loved about pro wrestleing is that it is a sport that has always remained loyal and close to its fans. A sport that has always given back more then its gotten. I cant tell you how many wrestlers Ive seen stand for an hour until every kid had their autograph.

    I still love wrestleing................take care................Rich

Thats really really cool... The closest memory that I have of those classic wrestlers like andre the giant and ultimate warrior were my toys when I was a kid... Seen some shows only on tape but thats it...

Cool thread. Yo Metal.... I like your list essa!!! hahaha Sorry I had to go there!
Seriously though... I'm with you on some of those. Batista and HHH are my two current favorites. I also like Cena and the Nature Boys as well. I've followed his (Flares) career for over 20 years. I like alot of others as well but would have to give it some serious thought to put together a list like that. I'd hate to forget one. Peace bros.

Cant believe none of you included the high-flying, ass-kicking, 619'ing masked man Reyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Mysterio. He has bulked up so much lately it is unbelieveable. WOnder how he does it??? LMAO. Anyway, Rey is my boy, followed by Batista, although I hate Evolution. Particularly hate HHH and Ric Flair (Faggot) The old man needs to go before his hair plugs fall out. Am disappointed with the Eugune issue and the fact that they let JBL become the new champ. That fat rich boy can't do anything in the ring besides a clothesline. Haven't seen Scott Steiner lately, anyone know where he is. Brock went back to football, damn.

I used to like watching it but lately the story lines are so stupid and all the intertaining wrestlers have left, I quite watching it.

Back when Stone Cold, The Rock, The Big Evil, ( not the new eye turning dork), Hulk Hogan and all the great ones wrestled, it was fun to watch.

Not anymore!! Now it's worst than the dorky soap opera my wife watches.
Was on a Ephedrine buying Frenzy before it was to late... Now, I've got enough stocked up to last 10 years!!

Dude...Im hurt. Deep inside, where Im squishy.....

I included Rey. He's one of my alltime favorites and someone I hope to partner with if and when I ever get to WWE.
Anyway, Rey is my boy, followed by Batista,
My man is Eddie, followed by Rey and Taker and Batista. I cant ever really put those cats in any order.

Brock went back to football, damn.
He just got cut by the Vikings and I hear is contemplating European leagues to hone his skills.

I respect your opinion, honestly I do, and I appreciate you statying this in a respectful manner in the end.

On that note, I myself could write a 10 page essay on why following professional sports is EVEN MORE retarted that wrestling. I mean, c'mon....the majority of men follow sports figures more blindly than any of us follow our favorite wrestlers. My god, some of them even make careers out of analyzing the play, statisctics, and personalities of individual sports stars. Im willing to bet tha there are more men out there who know what university his favorite sports figure graduated from than who know their wive's or even kid's birthdays. If that is not the very epitome of sad and retarted, I dont know what.

Seriously, put anger aside and look at what I just wrote. Objectively. Please. Its true, isnt it? Whole enterprises are made with the sole purpose of tracking pro athlete individual stats and broadcasting every game imaginable (ESPN), yet when someone professes a love of wrestling, the same people who follow professional sports (to a varied degree) start to bash.

If thats not the pot calling the kettle black, I dont know what is.

you got a point there budy, but I and im honest to god, do not like sports that much, i honestly do not care about who is gona win or some shit like that. I dont watch football or baseball and fuck basketball. I used to play all kinds of sports when i was little and growing up, but I just dont get the other guys. The only sport I kinda care about is soccer, I watch the soccer world cup every 4 years and i truly dont give a fuck who win it i just go to our sport bar to hand out with the guys and drink beer, but i just dont see the true collors of sport if you will..... sure i yell out gooooalll and cheer but i just do it just because i dotn even know but I would rather watch Cops on TV than some sports game, Its just not me...I do like to watch bodybuilding and thats just because those guys are freaks to me, but hehe i tihnk you get my point....

Absolutely. Very well put and so diplomatic. You are about sports the way I am, except its baseball that I hate with an inhuman passion. Well.... watching it anyways. I can play the shit out of it. Im hispanic, I guess its in my genes.... Anyways...you are about soccer the way I am about golf, as strange as that is to say.

...Had to throw some of my "Home" boys in there , no one did it like these guys. The original acrobatic and athletic highflyers.

Who here thinks both Eddie and Kurt are getting screwed with this whole 'Kurt Angle = heel" crap? Kurt is an excellent heel but he was so much more attention getting as a face. People were going bonkers whenever he's come out because he was so danged popular.

I go way back with wrestleing. I can remember my old man taking me to see such greats as Baron Von Rascke, Vern Gania, the bruiser & crusher, BoBo Brazil, Andre The Giant...ect The 60's were a trememndous time for pro wrestleing. But who back then would have thought the sport would have grown so big? I still think its the best "fan-sport" there is, if you never been to a pro-wrestleing match you are missing something. And as big as its gotten pro-wrestleing is still the most "fan-connected" sport its always been. I can remember wrestlers never leaving until every kid got an autograph.

If anything its even better nowdays. I love it, always have. YaKnow life its ownself isnt all that legit either..........take care...........Rich

I have a few things to say regarding this post.
    1. I'm not a big Ray fan. No reason really what so ever. He just doesn't appeal to me. Your right about his physic though. outstanding. His talent also places him in the top of the heap in that regards as well. I can't blame anyone for liking him. I'm just not a huge fan of the smaller wrestlers I suppose.
    2. It's cool you don't like Evolution. That is of couse matter of choice. BUT... you can't call Rick Flair a Fag. He is FAR from gay. He has the reputation of a hard partying ladies man. So much in fact it ruined his 1st marriage. I still respect him for his staying power.
    3. I have no idea what happened to Scott S. I don't know if WWE just didn't renew his contract or that he didn't want to renew. Probably a little of both. I don't think WWE used him as well as they could have. He never really had a good 'push' there.

Same here Rich, I used to go with my friend and his dad. So far back the advertising was done the same way as boxing. the 'match cards" which were posted in the neighborhood barbershops etc. They were the big carboard advertisements listing all the matches. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I used to have the one of Andrea The Giant doing a double bi pose with 4 girls sitting on his shoulders. I think he was wresting Bruno Samartino on that card. I forget. those were cool days.
