How do you burn extra time?

Here I am online burning some time while I wait for my auto drivers improvement class watchdog timer to permit me to advance to the next internet screen. They give 40 minutes per module (I have 8 modules) but I can read at above the 8th grade level and find that I can complete a module in 5 minutes. So the state is punishing me for being too mentally speedy. They are preventing me from completing this distance learning class until I spend the right amount of “penance time” online before I can advance to the next modules. All this for failing to stay under the posted speed limit. It seems that me and 200 other fine citizens where way out of line in not realizing that the newly completed 6 lane highway (3 each direction) was designed for a speed of 45 mph and not 55 mph. So I was going 59 mph… geeze I paid for that road and it was a year behind schedule and the signs were not even up yet and it was miles and miles of open road with few cars. I should have realized that the 30 police cars and motorcycles sitting along the roadway were not there for an inaugural parade or funeral possession. I should have know that the police would be out in force after the local newspapers criticized their policies and would still fail to patrol in the other end of the unfinished road and seek easy money to pay for the traffic accidents and policemen’s time in filling out all the investigations. And it was sad that 12 people had to die during the road construction and widening (from 4 lanes) but absolutely disgraceful that the police would not patrol it until it was completed a year late. So, here I am at IM burning time between modules to learn my lesson. This is clearly a bitch session but I know that somehow I will be a much better man for it…

My question is how do you spend your idle time when you have nothing else you can do productive due to work or policy situations?

    Whore.

Umm, I generally spend my free time that I dont really have here on IM. Most other stuff I do I allocate enough time... but IM seems to come up all too often when I research and write for school. I'd try blocking it, but I know I'd be twigging like a crack whore inside of 12 hours

First one in about 5 years. It was nothing about speeding and everything about the police giving the impression that they were patrolling the new highway after a bunch of people dies during its construction. They are literally writing tickets to pay for the court costs and overtime pay they need to process all the litigation.

I'm not going to humor everyone here and post in my usual and expected manner. I know, I know, a lot of you are just rolling your stupid little eyes "Oh just wait till Chromo comes and posts some stupid answer we're all just gonna ignore and hope he goes away." So I'm gonna prove you ALL wrong and just end it at that... so fuck you all.

    Sleep, write, read, workout.

Working 20 hours per week with a 5 minute commute leave wondering what to do, quite often.

Teaching English to Korean privates in Saigon, Vietnam.

Have a few adult business classes but that's about it.

I seriously don't think I can assmilate into American culture again. After living in other countries for some time, the thought of returning to a large suburb, having to drive a car through traffic to work long hours, and taking 2 weeks off per year, is difficult to do.

I take 2 months off per year to travel.

In America people can't take two months off because they are up to their ears in debt, and the work-culture will not allow it.

By Privates, I mean private lessons.

The Korean kids are getting their education - all of it - math, biology, history, in English, in the International schools here. Hence there is a huge demand for them to learn as much English as possible.

The Korean business men working for Korean corporations (and their families) have so much money it is not even funny.

They are picky, but they pay well.
