I played jazz and blues (bass and trombone) mostly in high school, but right now I'm most into jam bands. Dave Matthews Band is by far my favorite. I've travelled around the country to see them. Cant get enough. Also love Pat McGee Band, Ben Harper, Moe, Phish, etc...
As far as jazz goes, I love everything from M. Davis, Coltrane, and J.J Johnson to Sinatra, Benny Goodman, and Harry Connick Jr.
But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

Oh yeah...almost forgot. I was a big hard core, punk, death metal guy in high school, too. Go figure.

I would consider jam bands on par with the free form Jazz style, that's the reason I like Jazz it fits my free form mind, I love jam bands myself I wish every band did hours of jamming instead of 3 minute studio sessions... anything over 7 minutes is the best and you gotta love when they stretch them for 30 minutes or more.

cool... so many people like metal here... I listen to hardcore too sometimes, progressive bands like dream theater, instrumental like joe sat, steve vai, yngwie malmsteen, and eric johnson(nice to the ears). I like anything from the 60's to the 90's... Aerosmith, doors, the who, led zep, guns, megadeth, metallica... And my favorite era grunge, alice, pearl jam, soundgarden, nirvana... the big 4. I also listen to blues, jazz, classical, r&b, alternative... pretty much everything...

    I play Metal:
Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Disturbed, Slipknot, Ozzy (sent him an audition tape), old Pantera, Dio, Sabbath, Big Iron, Pornlab, King Diamond.

    My guitarists are:
Jake E. Lee, Zack Wylde, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai (when he's not playing anything too damned goofy), Dan Donagan, Kerri King, Mickey Dee, Kirk Hammet, Yngwie.

My style is: Randy/ Van Halen/ Yngwie mix. Or so Ive been told. Yes, I actually still play solos. People that say they dont "because they lack soul" just CANT!!

My prefference is hardcore techno club dance music

If I listen to music while working out, which I dont, it's slow Piano or Violin concertos, Barry Manilow, Barry White, Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, or old 40s crooners. No metal, it distracts me.

Rock, Hip hop, and acoustic stuff.

I would say DMB is my favorite right now, but that changes monthly like my period. I imagine I will be back in the Jimmy buffet mood in a couple of days since the weather is turning out well.

I saw the dead last year and it was incredible, even though I was not even a fan before, but hey, I got free box seats so I went.

I suppose I have a place in my heart for 80's rock, even the glam stuff.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

First and foremost the late great Tupac Shakur....

..besides him, I have been getting really into Big Pun's flow alot lately, Canibus' flow is always incredible, Tech n9ne is just the best rapper period, Yukmouth is thugged out as a motha fucka, Brotha Lynch is Siccer than sicc no doubt, Eminem is one of the best lyricists of our time no doubt and is a pleasure to listen to always.

besides teh hip hop, one of my favorite artist is Bob Marley, I love listening to all his shit, I can't get enough of him!.
