I am not planning on becoming a "day trader", I might purchase some Google stock when it goes public, so I figured I would open an online account at one of those places to buy it.

I started on Etrade...it's a good place to learn about online trading if you aren't going to be making a lot of transactions per month. check out some other though, you have plenty of time since it will be several months until Google goes public...I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I use Fidelty only because I have other accounts with them so it's like a "one stop shop" for me. I definetly have zero complaints about them...great customer service

Most of them have a gimick, either low trade $ or "gauranteed" 2 minutes or less trades things like that.

I like Ameritrade. Daytrading is risky.
