As an engineer with advanced degrees, I can't find a decent paying job anymore. I've only worked 9 months since 9-11.
I'm curious to know... Since 9-11 lots of us have had to pursue different lines of work. I for one, am one of those people who'se changed fields entirely. I know it's been over two years, so maybe some of you are on track by now..
How has a bad economy effected you? I hear from people all the time trying to adjust. I know I am not the only one! lets hear from you!

it was just the timing...at the time I was working for Agilent Technologies in Silicon Valley. Our sales dropped from 10 billion a year down to 1 Billion in 3 quarters. the company laid off about 35,000 people in 3 rounds of lay-offs..Originally posted by Burner02

Great post by Pierzin.
Here is my take on some trends.
Work weeks increase every year.
Wages have been stagnant or in decline in most years for past couple decades.
Property values are significantly outpacing income.
Taxes are high, and keep increasing.
American consumer debt is the highest it has ever been in the history of our nation.
Home equity debt is at the highest it has ever been in the history of our nation.
Retirement is a thing of the past for 80% of today's workers.
I dropped out....I am happy...everyday I live and work for me....
Everyone is different....
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
