I use those bulbs all through my house and they are plenty bright enough too.

I would like to see how much you guy's know about alternate energy sources aka renewable resources.
List them or go into detail, you can also add ways to conserve energy that benefit you in the long run.
How much do I save using a compact fluorescent light? Changing incandescent to compact fluorescent lighting benefits everyone.
A compact fluorescent light using 16 watts of energy replaces a 60-watt incandescent bulb. The life of this bulb is 10,000 hours or approximately 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb, saving $35 worth of energy over the life of the bulb.
This eliminates the emission of 1300 pounds of carbon dioxide and 26 pounds of sulfur dioxide from a coal fired plant producing electricity.
Considering 10 incandescent bulbs would have to be replaced at an average cost of 50 cents, the typical net savings using compact fluorescents would be $25 per bulb. The logic and economics in environmental savings are difficult to ignore.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Don't look back ~ You're not going that way!

So no one knows about alternatives to fossil fuels and was to conserve. This saddens me.![]()

I still donīt know why eletric and solar cars never sold that much. They are good cars, there is even race between them. Another way to move was proposed a few year ago, the segway, it is quite cheap and fast.

There is also a good project to develop in the whole brazilian coast, places to use the power of waves. It is amazing how much energy a wave can produce.
That is the old model, the new donīt use air.

Yes the wave machines are cool for coastal areas
Here is a solar concentrator, it uses mirrors to focus sunlight on a tank holding salt sort of like a magnifying glass on an ant. The salt heats up and melts becoming super hot they then pump it into water producing steam.

Oh, I forgot they are also thinking of using ocean current as well.

http://www.nelha.org/about/facilities.html
I had a chance to visit this place. They pump cold seawater into the area and use it to cool the buildings. They run the cold water through pipes and blow air across them making a chill water system without the need for a refrigerant.
They also run cold pipes across gardens and when the warm air outside hits the cool pipes they condensate or sweat and drip on the plants thereby watering them.
One of the companies that utilizes the facilities.
KONA COLD LOBSTERS, LTD.
Kona Cold Lobsters, Ltd. imports live lobsters and crabs from natural Atlantic fisheries and rejuvenates them in cold deep seawater holding pens for distribution throughout Hawaii and select Asian and Pacific destinations. Also having successfully bred and raised Maine lobsters from egg to sexual maturity for over 20 years, the company's long range goal is to become operationally independent of the natural fishery.
