Muscle Beach competition
For those that will be in the L.A. area for memorial day weekend, Muscle beach in venice is having its annual bodybuilding and figure championship. Its on Monday May 31st @ 10am. Free admission. Anyone planning on going? I will take some pics if I get good enough seats.

It was pretty cool. I couldn't stay for the entire event, because it was too hot and my GF was bitchin. I have pics from event, will post them later.

About the only bad thing about moving to Vegas is that I can't just zoom down to Venice beach at the drop of a hat. I love watching the freak show down there. Is my girlfriend still there, the 80 year old thong wearing grandma who does the dance of the seven veils? What a hottie.

Oh ya she is still there sometimes. Hate to break the news to you though, I think she hooked up an older black guy. He plays the guitar or something in his speedos while she dances. Its a scary site.

if you want la area near the beach you'd be looking at:
santa monica
venice
marina del rey
playa del rey
manhattan beach
redondo beach
huntington beach
hermosa beach
damn expensive - but a great place to be in my opinion! the most important thing when renting there is you MUST have a parking space. if they tell you street parking you may think it'd be ok but i promise you....one day in the summer you'll be coming home with groceries and have to park miles away.

I live in Santa Monica, been here for 14yrs. Transplant from Sac town (Cowtown). I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in L.A. The rent on this side of LA is outrages. Be ready to spend anywhere from $1100 - $1400 for a 1bedroom. Luckily I got into an apartment thats still under rent control. Originally Posted by oaktownboy
