it all depends on the cost of the plate. I gave my close friend $200, and one of my best friends $300. I also had a date with me at both.
How much money do you typically give as a wedding present? It's my best friend's wedding and I'm giving the cash because they already have everything else so what an appropriate amount?
Only time will tell if it was time well spent!

The plate??????If your meaning food, it's nothing fancy. Probably wedding cake and finger foods. But, after the church reception there's a big party at their new house with a TON of free alcohol
. Oh, and this is their first wedding (she's 21, he's 25). I'm in the wedding too, if that matters.

Here is what you do, if you are close friends, what would you expect from her. None of that I just want her there crap either.
Who paid for the wedding?
If you were in it and bought a dress, bachelorette party, etc, she will know you have already spent alot. If it is nothing fancy, I would say $100 would be enough, but generally you cover the cost per plate of food as was mentioned before. If the groom and bride paid for the wedding themselves, I would give a little more so that they can have a good honeymoon.![]()
If sense were common, everyone would have it.
