Incredible Discovery Shapes Way We See Universe!!!

    A MUST SEE ARTICLE!!!
    http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/...es/f_w49b.html
IN W49B, ONLY 35,000 lightyears away, We've discovered what appears to be a a gamma ray burst origin!!! Previously the closest believed gamma ray burst were several million lightyears away; Most of which are several light years distant!

"An observer in the path of one of these jets would be blinded by a gamma-ray burst packing as much power as ten quadrillion suns."

"This star appears to have exploded inside a bubble it had created," Keohane of said. "In a sense,....

    this is impossible

You cant even see gama rays
    its radiation
    ten quadrillion suns???
    dont make me laugh

    thats a bogus article man
    dont believe it

If there was that much actual radiation
everything within 1000000000 light years would be destroyed

Did you read the article? Just curious, I put the quote way out of context(intentionally) its from a section describing their theory on how a collapsar works. The paragraph was alot more realistic-

"For more than a decade, astronomers have suspected that gamma-ray bursts are produced when the core of a massive star collapses, forming a black hole collapsar. A disk of superhot, magnetized gas spins rapidly around the black hole, which pulls in most of the gas. But some is hurled outward in opposite directions at nearly the speed of light. An observer in the path of one of these jets would be blinded by a gamma-ray burst packing as much power as ten quadrillion suns"

Even if gamma rays arent visible; consider how muh one sun would emit.. then multiply it by 10 quardrillion.. the absoluter flood of rays could just overflow everything in your range of vision.. Id assume you would just die very fast
I dont think its bogus; Its a direct link from nasa.gov.
I couldnt even start a truly valid opinion on correctness though, I have no idea how they could even guess at something thats 35,000 lightyears away
