    Question The Bodybuilding Network

I cant help but wonder why there is no channel devoted to bodybuilding. Past shows, interviews, tips, exercises, the possibilities are endless. We have shows on cooking, golf, travel, shopping, blah blah blah. Why hasnt anyone picked up on this yet?

I remember in the mid 90's ESPN used to have weightlifting shows in the morning. It had Shawn Ray and some other guys, also had hotties like Kiana Tom. Now there is a Fit TV channel, but its geared towards women mostly. But ya it would be nice to have a channel specifically on bodybuilding.

I don't know what channel it was but there was one we were watching last year at this time later at night. It always had stuff like the Strong Man Competitions, Fitness Pagent and that kind of thing. That's what gave me the itch to start working on my own body. It's working, because I'm fitting into some of my clothes better with more shape too.

American Muscle was a show that flopped badly, hardly anyone is into bodybuilding. There is not much money in the sport and there are hardly any participants on a grand scale.

Bodybuilding is still a hole in the wall sport.

Yup, I used to watch American Muscle, it would come on at around 1am in the morning.

I think that a show covering all aspects of fitness would do well: bodybuilding, fitness, figure, etc. especially now, it has skyrocketed in the past 5 years.

    excatly...

considering the majority of the US population if made up of lazy, fat and obese people that a bodybuilding network wouldn't last long...

if bodybuilding got some exposure, the fat lazy people could see how fun and beneficial a positive lifestyle change could be.

No television is not the place for bodybuilding. I like that we get our information alot through interaction with others of the same vein and not from some commercialized network image of who and what we should be. Internet communities like this are the best since it requires active involvement instead of mindless zombified blank stares at glass faced boxes.

of course everyone knows the benefits but few dedicate themselves to it. it is something that takes months or even years to achieve. people want overngiht success and are not willing to put the time and effort into it.

I liked it for the contest coverage, pro bb gossip, and the entertainment value like when they would interview a pro bb, or go thru a work-out with a pro bb, etc.

I really wish someone would bring it back.

I think they should at least devote a show or 2 to it on ESPN or FitTV, I don't see the funding for an entire network though.

how many bodybuilding magazine's are currently in circulation?

M & F, Flex, IronMan, MD, MuscleMag, Planet Muscle, and I am sure there a few others. If they can survivie I at least think a show, even if it was an hour long and only came on weekly.

back in the day they'd televise the USAs and the Junior Nationals (they usually aired at 2 am but that's better than nothing). I REALLY miss being able to see some of the top amateur shows on TV.
