Liberals are still in denial about John McCain

Wishing hard that he would run as Kerry's VP, though he never suggested he would, and denied it time after time. This didn't stop Kerry from shamlessly begging, or the media from speculating and hoping.

Maybe today, when McCain actually campaigns for Bush in Washington State, they will finally get it: McCain is a republican who backs Bush.

Reminds me of a woman telling a man no and he just won't take it for an answer.

I agree with this, very desparate.

Anyone else heard the rumor that Cheney won't be the Veep nominee with GWB? I've heard very strong rumblings that it's gonna be Rudy Gulliani. Now wouldn't THAT throw an interesting twist into the '08 election if Billary does decide to run.

Albob..that's funny you mention that...my wife said after 9/11 that she thought Cheney would step aside for health reasons and the Rudy would bee the Veep.

She'll be obnoxious if that turns out to be true.

    Interesting topic.

I've been hoping Cheney would have his 4th or 5th Big Banger and twitch and twaddle on the floor--hopefully on camera. I've still got my fingers crossed that it might happen though.

What would be interesting, entertainment-wise, is how the Censorship thing would be handled if this were to happen. Guliani is a big Stern supporter and if he did go with ole GW, I would love to see how that unfolds considering Stern was a huge backer of Rudy G.

I've obviously not tried to hide my bias toward GWB, and am probably looking at the whole issue through rose colored glasses, but I think GWB's involvement in the entire censorship issue was WAY overblown.

I doubt this will happen, but if it does, The liberals won't stand a chance at the white house. And for Billery, she would not run as she knows she wouldn't stand a chance..............as if she would anyway.

I wanted McCain to win the pres nom when GW got it. McCain is the shit! I think he'd be a great vice pres and even better pres
But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

Mr Snafu has shown his true colors, which have actually always been apparent to me. He hates Bush and Cheney, and wants them out even if it is bad for America. For example I'll bet Mr S would hate for us to find Bin Laden, for the new Iraqi government to be successful or for the economy to continue improving. Although all of these things are great for the US, it would mean bad news for liberals who can't stand having Bush as president.

Mr Snafu, I'd recommend moving to Canada because it is only going to get worse for you over the next 4 years.

I like Dick Cheney and I hope he finishes the second term. He has been the most effective VP ever. I remember a lot of folks were confused when Bush chose him because his name on the ticket wouldn't help Bush get elected (not many electoral votes in Wyoming). Bush showed great foresight I thought when he said he chose a VP who would help him govern effectively, not one who would help him get elected. Theirs is a CEO/COO relationship and it works.

If Cheney can't finish term 2 I would like to see Chuck Hagel or Zell Miller step in and then run for prez in 2008.

Bush and Cheney ARE good for America. That is not an assumption, but a fact.

I said "I'll bet" you think those things, so why do you characterize that as a lie?

If I had a nickel for every liberal who claims to be a libertarian I'd be able to purchase a beach condo in South Carolina, which by the way, is much nicer than SE Asia.

I'll admit I have committed very little about you to my memory, except that you are just another intolerant, defensive, Bush-hating liberal.

Mr Snafu all's fair in love, war and politics. I understand libertarian ideology. I also understand that a libertarian will never be elected in the United States. Neither party is perfect obviously, but the GOP meets many libertarian objectives, and if I was a Libertarian, I would vote for Bush.

You seem more like a liberal than libertarian to me because you criticize everything about Bush with a passion. He is the most conservative president we've had since Reagan, arguably even more conservative than RR. He promotes conservatism and helps other conservatives get elected. In a second term he is likely to leave an even more conservative legacy (supreme court justice appts, tax cut, deregulation, etc).

Thank you for your understanding. I'm not a liberal and I think many conservatives hate Bush because:

    1. He is a big spender, spending more money than Clinton.

    2. Believe in BIG government in almost all spheres of life

    3. Is a draft-dodging hypocrite who snorted cocaine yet increased the sentences for it.

    4. He is dumber than sh*t.

    1. Only Congress can appropriate funds, but if Bush continues to cut taxes, the government will have less available to spend.

    2. It would seem so, yes, except for the fact that cutting taxes reduces the power of government and he is a big tax cutter.

    3. Your irrational hatred is showing. Neither of these claims are true, but are often thrown out by Bush-haters during weak moments.

    4. Compared to who? He was admitted to Yale based on pedigree just as John Kerry and Al Gore were. He had a C average just as Gore did. While Gore dropped out of Divinity school, Bush got an MBA from Harvard (back before MBAs were "cool"). He successfully completed fighter pilot training, which if you don't know, is not for dummies. He defeated Gore in 3 debates. We'll see how he does against Kerry.

Do you think he's dumb because of the way he speaks and carries himself? You can read you own above post regarding the falacy of assumptions.

Cheney has done his part now we need to set up a new VP for the next election after this one. Cheney is not going to be electable as president either for health reasons or becuase he can't relate to anyone under 60. The Republicans need a new fresh face in the VP slot.

Rudy G would be an awesome running mate.

As for Hillary - it seems interesting to note that she actually seems to have matured into a semi-responsible adult since her term in NY. I don't think that Bill's ego would permit him to accept her to that position and HIllary just might now be a much better "man" than he ever was or could be. If she ran it would result in a pragmatic divorce from Billy to distance herself form the smut and the loss of face she has experienced. Liberal females think she was weak for not leaving Billy when he publicly soiled the office of the presidency, the marriage and the poster-girl liberated image that they were trying to paint with her as the tough chick in the white house. I am watching her very carefuly now since I am betting that her instincts for power will dominate her imported ideology and am expecting a radical departure or change. Now would't it be interesting if she suddenly switched parties and flip-flopped to the Republican side!

Maybe ol Arnold S. should run for VP...

Dick Cheney I'm sure has no aspirations at all to be president. I think Jeb Bush is the heir apparent. A Jeb Bush/Rick Santorum ticket would be awesome. Who knows, maybe Colin Powell now has the "fire in the belly" to be president.

Pepper, the libertarians sound pretty good in concept but once you peel away the veneer they are all over the board on the various social and domestic issues. This party has become the cesspool for all the disenfranchised, anti-government people that have been left in the gaps at both the Democratic and republican parties. It will never be able to gather enough cohesion and a philosophically pure framework to ever be a viable political force. At best it will play the role of a perpetual spoiler and serve to randomize the election process to confound the pollsters and their predictions of who will win elections. Nader, Perot, Trump and all the mavericks of the world will find a home in this party and they will use the spoiler card to leverage large cash or legislative concessions out of the other two parties in a deadly and extortive lover’s triangle.
