"Many scientists believe the find could eventually lead to drugs for treating people with muscular dystrophy and other muscle-destroying conditions. And athletes would almost surely want to get their hands on such a drug and use it like steroids to bulk up."

Of course they had to add that in...

I wonder if he will live a full life. IE: NOT 50% lifespan like the mice do that have the gene removed.

It would be very interesting to know indeed. It would be a shame to see the kid exploited for all of mankind though, if it turns intrusive on his life.

    Very freaky indeed.

The boy is healthy now, but doctors worry he could eventually suffer heart or other health problems.
Not yet 5, he can hold seven-pound weights with arms extended, something many adults cannot do.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to this kid. New gene therapy? Amazing. Twice the muscle size and half the body fat! Lucky bastard ..well, as long as he doesn't have any heart problems or anything.

From that rat article - And why stop there, how about the really special "Myagra-statin" because "girls really want a bigger man." Welcome to Fantasy Island, I mean the sports supplement industry.

that rat pictures were very interesting. i just read the article in newday too....
cool. so is this kid gonna be like the real life hulk or something.lol. i guess ill try something to block myostatin but im doubting it will do much of anything. its not gonna be like this kid who is missing genes in his DNA. im already taking something to block cortisol, which has actually been great, but trying new products has always been my hobbie. i know its a waste alot of the time.
