They could whup us in one sport though. Sumu wrestling.

Mr Snafu you are a card-carrying member of the "I hate America" club.

There are also a heap of shithouse American baseball players here that get schooled daily. That is despite the VERY OBVIOUS genetic advantage, and double population ( bigger pool ) the US has.

Judo, marathon...US cannot compete with them there....not even close.

In fact, take a good look at the total number of gold, silver and bronze won per capita and you`ll see Australia is a country "the US cannot hope to compete with"

Japan is notorious for baseball, but these guys are obviously not america's best players, or else they wouldn't be there.

Yep, martial arts go to Japan over the US.

Australia does okay in selected sports. Other than Luc Longley, I can't think of an Aussie that has played pro sports in the US though. Can you?

American sports are not famous in Australia.....so? I`ve never heard of a US player in Australian football pro teams, be it Rugby or AFL....nor cricket etc etc.....so? There are a couple of Australian players in AF teams...though I don`t know their names. One of them recently wrote a book on his experiences there......

You mentioned the Olympics...thats a fair ground when looking pre capita, and your mouth has talked more than your athletes have proved.

Why even argue this? Snafu may be anti US, I don`t know or care.....America IS famous as the most obese country in the world so his image is not that far a stretch. You`ve gone and turned that into something more petty though.

You're very defensive. American sports are indeed famous in Australia. NFL games have been played there, and I'm sure the Superbowl is televised live. ESPN used to televise Australian Rules Football, but I haven't seen it in a while.

I'm not sure many Amercans have ever tried out for Australian football pro teams. Who would want to wear those uniforms? Short shorts and long socks went out in the 70s here.

Like I said, Australia does well in selected Olympic sports, such as swimming. I'm not knocking Australia, it's a great country.

So? Rugby has been played in the US....that doesn`t make it popular.

Don`t be so sure as it doesn`t happen. 99.9% wouldn`t even know who won it last year.

Different codes wear different uniforms, though if you want a laugh look at baseball! lol And again, none of the three football codes needs to wear the protection that looks so rediculas.......

If Australia does "well in selected sports" then the US must do "reasonable in selected sports" eh?
