Thumbs up The Greatest Gift Anyone Has Ever Given Me

A work of art someone drew for me for my birthday past (July 12) I am still speechless. I've never celebrated my birthday, and usually it just passes over, maybe one person will remember, but it's usually nothing important. A little embaressed since she is far more beautiful than I am, but humbled nonetheless, all my favorite things. It's incredible, all done in pencil, just beautiful. I just wanted to share it since I know many people appreciate great artwork like this. I intend to put this in one of my gold frames (real old English style looking, my favorite) and hang this up... I love when someone does something like this, and I never thought anyone would spend so much time on something like this for me, no one has ever done it before.

    Love,
    Jamie Leigh

Did that snail just fart a galaxy?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

    Thats amazing!

    It is beautiful isn't it...

    Thank you very much guys...

Things have returned to my "current reality" though, so all of those things at this point just seem like a distant dream...

    Yes Sir...

Well if you want to look at it THAT way...

Or, you can see it in the grander perspective. Just a bunch of images, all with different meanings smooshed together in an real eccentric, artistic, yet beautiful way...

Anyone can take anything they like from it and interpret it... that's the beauty of it.

    Happy birthday.

What is the significance of ET near your head and the little girl (Is that a little girl?) on your shoulder?

    Hm, not quite sure.

It's a reader of mine from my website who drew this of me, and I (I don't ever want to speak for an artist, that's usually a real bad thing to do...) but if I may... I think he just tried to incorporate different things about me that he knows I like, things I enjoy, certain personalities or in this case aliens that I can identify with or whose stories I hold dear... I talk about all sorts of things and use their stories in my own imagery within LABYRINTH, so I think it's incorporating just different passions of mine, ideals, things I believe in, magic, escapisms...

I adore the film ET. I wrote about this in the diary, latest entry, http://www.jamieleigh.net/log.html and I do a lot, so most people know how much I love it... the message, the message of compassion... the story is a simple one and always my favorite, so I think that is the significance of ET's little face peaking out up there... It represents magic, pure and simple... something that I think is lost right now and people are craving for it with what's happening in the world... it's some sort of craving inside now, people just want to escape into another world, galaxy like you said and just leave earth and what's happening... That entire concept as well is something I constantly talk about, believe in, find solace in... it's hard for me to relate to the ways of this world right now... I know that sounds incredibly weird, but there are specific reasons behind everything I believe in and once people see that which many don't, it's clear as night.

In terms of the child, it could be a boy, little girl, again I don't want to speak for him because his reasoning could be totally different. But perhaps that represents my love of humanity, and just a dream (a naive one I realize) of being like Princess Diana (sadly before she died) and just making my life's mission travelling all around the world, being with different cultures, different classes, creeds, and just doing whatever I can in my power to bring some sense of escape through creative expression... or humanitiarian causes. I do a lot now, I have done all my life with animals, charities around the world... small scale since now I am not much and don't have much to offer without some true help to jump off... so that could be what that means. I always incorporate a lot of global ideas and themes in anything I do... when I write, I just push a message of unity...

The snail I think is my love for animals... but I think he combined and picked certain images for certain reasons... I wish I knew but I am still in awe to much to bother them more... it was such a gift...

If you really look into this deeply you will see a great deal of pain and sadness. It's the truth... but I don't think many will get that at face value, but if you really look, think about what everything signifies, stands for on it's own, they are all things born out of pain, lonliness, sadness... it's how most artists are I think, but that's what makes them do what they do, and you are forced basically as I was since the world you are in now or grew up in was so difficult you look to escape... and unlike a lot who choose drugs, or whatever to loose control, I looked to art, to history, artists from the past, film, characters, just people who I could relate to and then watched how they created from their pain and was inspired in my own... you create your own world... many artists and people can relate to that.

    Does that help?

That hat looks like an NOI hat, maybe it's a baby Farrakhan who if brought up in a more tolerant environment wouldn't be so hateful.

Farakhan is very racist. I'm saying if he were brought up with more love by a "white devil" and less hate he wouldn't be in a Race Supremacy group.

    Um...

    No comment Maniclion...

I respect your strong views on political leaders, lol, but I don't think that has anything to do with a pencil drawn child in a beautiful piece of artwork... but interesting nonetheless...

<<< gift of acceptance and love >>>

Acceptance and love hm... well that's truly lucky for you, I hope you appreciate it and realize what a wonderful thing that is to have if you don't...

I did, but then had my heart broken, deeply broken, but I get love from animals, my writing, helping others, inspiring them through art, music, etc. maybe I'll heal the heart in time, maybe not... we'll see... private.

I love things that show time went into them, thought, this is still so beautiful for me to see... I need to frame this, haven't had the chance to yet.

I guess Dale just didn't get all the "love from animals" that he needed as a child. Tragic really.
