Something I found while perusing the internet.
Following is a brief background on Mrs. John Kerry . She hates being
called that, by the way:
Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry. Married Senator
Kerry in 1995. She only took his name eighteen months ago and she is an
"interesting" paradox of conflicts.
If you thought John Kerry was scary, he doesn't hold a candle to his
wife! Maria Teresa Thiersten Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry was born in
Mozambique, the daughter of a Portuguese physician, was educated in
Switzerland and South Africa. Fluent in five languages, she was working
as a United Nations interpreter in Geneva in the mid-60's when she met a
"handsome" young American, H. John Heinz, III, who worked at a bank in
Geneva. He told her his family was "in the food business."
They were married in 1966 and returned to Pittsburgh where his family
ran the giant H. J. Heinz food company. He was elected to the US House
of Representatives in 1971, and in 1976 he was elected to the first of
three terms in the United States Senate. A Republican, he wrote a
burning diatribe against some of the causes backed by young House member
John Kerry.)
Several years later, in 1991, he was killed when his plane collided
with a Sun Oil Company helicopter over a Philadelphia suburb. The
senator, his pilot and copilot, and both of Sun's helicopter pilots were
killed. He was survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three young
sons.
Four years later, having inherited Heinz's $500 million fortune, she
married Senator John Forbes Kerry, the liberal then-junior senator from
Massachusetts. She became a registered Democrat and the process of her
radicalization was set in motion.
Heinz Kerry is not shy about telling people that she required Kerry
to sign a prenuptial agreement before they were married. John Kerry may
not have check writing privileges on the Heinz catsup and pickle
fortune, but he is certainly a willing and uncomplaining beneficiary of
it.
A lot of hard-earned money, made through many years of hawking
catsup, mustard, and pickles has fallen into the hands of two people who
despise successful entrepreneurship and who believe in the confiscatory
redistribution of wealth.
So how does Mrs. Heinz Kerry spend John Heinz's money?
Just one example:
According to the G2 Bulletin, an online intelligence newsletter of
WorldNetDaily, in the years between 1995-2001 she gave more than $4
million to an organization called the Tides Foundation. And what does
the Tides Foundation do with John Heinz's money?
They support numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's
International Action Center. Clark has offered to defend Saddam Hussein
when he's tried.
They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the
Tides Foundation and billionaire hate-monger George Soros. The
Democratic Justice Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration
from "terrorist" states.
They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose
leaders are known to have close ties to the terrorist group, Hamas.
They support the National Lawyers Guild, organized as a communist
front during the Cold War era. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart,
has been arrested for helping a client, Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman,
communicate with terror cells in Egypt. He is the convicted mastermind
of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
They support the "Barrio Warriors," a radical Hispanic group whose
primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and
Texas to Mexico.
These are but a few of the radical groups that benefit, through the
anonymity provided by the Tides Foundation, from the generosity of our
would-be first lady, the wealthy widow of Republican senator John Heinz,
and now the wife of the Democratic senator who aspires to be the 44th
President of the United States.
Aiding and supporting our enemies is not good for America, regardless
of your political views.
If voters will open their eyes, educate themselves and see the real
Teresa Heinz Kerry, they will not appreciate her position as ultra rich
fairy godmother of the radical left. They will not want to imagine her
laying her head on a pillow each night inches away from the President of
the United States.
Hopefully they love this country enough to decide that the only way
these two will ever be allowed into the White House is with an engraved
invitation in hand.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.

I assume John Heinz was aware of his wife's political leanings when he wrote his last will and testament.

Tides Foundation and Tides Center have come under attack in several opinion pieces recently appearing in media such as the The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times, among others. The articles make false allegations relating specifically to Tides and the funding it receives from The Heinz Endowments, as well as Tides' support of a group called "September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows." The allegations are without merit, consisting entirely of errors and innuendo.
Here are the facts: The Heinz Endowments have granted Tides Foundation $230,000 dispensed between 1994 and 1998. These grants were used solely to support a pollution prevention initiative and other environmentally friendly practices by industries in Western Pennsylvania. Tides Center, an independent organization providing administrative and financial services to hundreds of projects across the country, has received additional support from The Heinz Endowments specifically to support projects in Pennsylvania. The vast majority of the projects funded through these endowments were related to either environmental protection or youth education. No Heinz- related money has gone to fund September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows. Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of Senator John Kerry, chairs The Howard Heinz Endowment and sits on Vira I. Heinz Endowment's board.
For the record, the Tides family of organizations is proud to provide support and services to Peaceful Tomorrows - a grassroots organization whose activities revolve around nonviolence and peaceful resolutions - through Tides Foundation, Tides Center, and Groundspring.org, an organization that provides training and web-based services for online fundraising. Tides Foundation has made four grants in 2002 and 2003 for a combined total of $34,665 to Peaceful Tomorrows. Peaceful Tomorrows has raised $19,097 through Groundspring.org since August, 2002.
Tides Foundation employs donor advised funds, the same financial vehicle administered in precisely the same way as the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and similar programs operated by Schwab, Vanguard, and more than 600 community foundations across the country. Tides works under the rigors of fund accounting, restricted grants, and annual audits, ensuring that all monies released by Tides are properly distributed and accounted for. Tides Center projects each raise funds for their individual program activities, with these funds being separately accounted for and administered. These funds are limited for the specific purposes for which they were given.
At Tides, our goal is a society based on fairness, equally shared economic opportunities, engaged and active citizens and environmental sustainability. In 2002 and 2003, Tides Foundation made more than 6,000 separate grants to nonprofit organizations totaling more than $100 million and Tides Center provides over 250 emerging projects with support services. Our work speaks for itself in the range of program activities that supports a diverse array of organizations working on projects from human rights to disaster relief and youth education.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts

Yeah...I noticed Rob didn't attribute that article, which contained a rather inordinate number of editorialized phrases. Sounds just like another song to the Republican choir, which, by the way has it's own hands full.
How rare it is when the wife of the Vice President openly disagrees with the President's stated policy on an issue. . .and how dedicated the Prez is to "proper family values" when he selected a Vice President with an openly gay daughter....and then puts that father ina position to abrogate his own child's right to privacy and association.
I kept reading that tirade and wondering where the scary part was. . .the right wing is gonna have to better at their Michael Moore imitation stuff.

Hey Mr. Schwarzenegger, spouses of presidents don't have to be born here. Hopefully this can somehow be used to remove policy standing in your way. ???
you don't get what you wish for ~ you get what you work for
...
I don't care about Kerry's wife. I don't care about Bush's wife. What kind of guy would shag a librarian anyway.
Thanks for the info. Rob_NC, but I do like to see links when I read these things. (Not trying to be a stickler though).
So who would you rather, shag? Kerry's bird, or Bush's?
It's an accurate statement that our current spending will not be increasing the debt We've stopped spending money that we don't have.
-- Jack Lew, then director of the Office of Management and Budget, in Feb. 16, 2011 testimony before the Senate Budget Committee.
The thing is if you didnt read about here where would you? I saw a show the other day and in it they showed the photos that have made print, of both Bush, cheney, and Kerry and "whatshisname"? , the guy he picked for VP. Since he picked him they showed photos of all of them in many major newspapers and magazines. All the pics of the Democrat candidates were of the two of them smileing, looking confident, looking like world winners. The print under the photos highlighted how these two were going to be the 2nd coming.
The photos shown of Bush/Cheney, either alone or together, were all pics of them grimiceing, looking befuddled, like they just got out of bed, and the print was of some negative nature.
Now I assume either side has an equal share of good looking photos and bad ones right? I mean they both belong to the same species, homo sapien right? As far as "print" goes I'd also assume Bush/Cheney should at least get equal positive slants as the liberals. I mean they are actually doing something instead of just running around the country promising 40 acres and a mule to everyone they see.
And some people dont believe me when I say 90% of the media is biased, leftist, and lacks objectivity. Some folks cant comprehend the mind-screwing such media manipulation can cause to the weakminded. Look how many people walked out of Farenheit 9/11 thinking Jesus just spoke from the cross to them. Then look at how some repeated some of Moores looney accusations and then went silent when I told them what the real facts were.
Its pathetic when you think about it............just pathetic..................take care................Rich

A content analysis study would have had to construct a cross-section of popular publications that used their pictures - my guess is that this was a rather biased program that selectively constructed propaganda by choosing certain publications to illustrate their point. A little grade school magician work. . . but effective enough to obviously manipulate some minds.
Tru there are a few objective and/or conservative news outlets. But let me ask you.? If you took every media employee with any power, from every media outlet in America? What would you figure the ratio of liberals to conservatives would be? I'd say, conservativly, about 100 to 1....................Rich

You sound like media-brainwashed idiots when you bring up something as useless as John Kerry's wife's background. Is she running for anything? Is she anywhere in the line of succession should he win? No. So shut the fuck up about it already. Do you think telling people about his wife's background will make people change their vote? I assume if your answer was yes that you still drool and have to wear a helmet on the bus to school.
Grow up people. No candidate, republican or democrat, gives two shits about any of us "commonfolk."
yay.
Am I to understand that you correlate conservativism w/ objectivity?Originally Posted by Rich46yo
